irrelevant? your acting like you have some superior DJ taste because of your knowlege of hip hop DJs...
Again, this poll is asking the EDM crowd who their favorite DJs are... hip hop DJs don't happen to be the favorite DJs of the EDM crowd, get over it. It doesn't mean Hip Hop DJs are any less talented than EDM DJs.
Obviously if we were to construct a 'Best DJ in the World' list, the DJs you mentioned would be highly ranked.

heh heh. like i have superior taste.. MY tastes have nothing to do with it. its the fact that the RA poll displays such a narrow musical range itself that is the point i'm making.
i understand what the poll is doing, and i'm commenting on the range it spits out in comparision to what's out there. what's not to get about that?
would you feel less perturbed if i talked about country n western djs? would that help at all? tell me what i can do to make it better for you.

I really don't understand what point you are trying to argue here.
RA asked their readers who their favorite DJs are, and they happened to be all EDM DJs, which is not at all surprising because RA is a "Dance & Electronic Music Magazine".
Then you asked:

why the fuck is it that hip hop djs are NEVER even in the running?
|
Answer: because the poll was conducted by an EDM magazine, asking EDM fans who their favorite DJs are. End of story.
Your point: that some hip hop DJs are just as good if not better than EDM DJs. Yeah, you are totally correct, however, that is totally irrelevant to the RA DJ poll or any other best DJ poll conducted by a magazine that is pretty much exclusively EDM.
Agreed?
P.S. I am going to stop now... I feel like I am just repeating the same points over and over again.

Im Not A Dj Dude, but dance music is a wide spectrum. maybe if they clarified the categories. The best dance dj would be the one who can make any crowd dance no matter there musical taste. trance djs would get eaten alive tring to play hip hop music & vice versa not because either music sucks but because most djs are not confident enough in there knowledge of music as a whole. people dont listen to more than 1 style of music(people do listen to more than 1 kind of music but they wont admit because its frowned upon in certain circles).
P:S- I dont call my thing Dance or Hip hop or Trance or Rock etc but my thing incorporates all thoose styles of music plus more, my music its more multicultural

Considering the site, I'm not surprised by the results - nice to see a "top-DJ poll" that reflects my interest in music a bit more then other mags where the entire list is trance-DJs/etc.
Either way, most top-DJ polls are silly anyways.

Umm, their poll reflects the genres the site covers and the tastes of their readers. I don't go to Resident Advisor to hear news on hip-hop, top-40, psytrance, trance, industrial, punk. I go to RA to find news/updates on - techno/minimal/house and closely related genres.
