A passable mixdown isn't hard if you are good enough to produce a decent track in the first place, and there are hundreds of people doing mastering for relatively cheap fees these days.

I disagree. I just say its the internet. Leeching came first. Then legal mp3 downloads which enabled you to start a label without any cost involved. Then dumbfucks started to launch labels and it all went downhill.
