-I'm going to be with my best friends, its going to be my birthday, the lineup will be better and the crowd isn't the "hi i have fake tits and I'm here to wear my bikini and find suga daddies and play with the other dj whores".
Demf is in the lead already. haha
I admit I have never been to WMC but that's probably why - I picture it as a lot of pretty people in tight clothing doing a lot of drugs...Detroit definitely gets sketch but the vibe is totally spectacular, esp Monday night. There is just nothing frilly about it (it's in Detroit ffs), it's all about the tunes.

what I really loved about DEMF last year was the fact that
-if we didnt dig an act on one stage we just went to another and had fun
-at midnight each night we went back to the hotel and were satisfied with the whole day....didnt really need to go to any after parties to complete our night....

ricardo would be absolutely dope as i didnt feel too good when he played in MTL...i need a do-over....however....i dont think a 2hr slot would do him justice...
I think he has a beef with the US...or is that another dj?

Now that I know what to expect, I'm going all out with after parties this year. There's no way I'm skipping out on Old Miami.

Detroit is definitely one of the more raw festivals I've been to. It's rawness gives it character though.

Ricardo needs more than a 2 hour set. I find when he plays short sets he plays a little on the cheesier side. He's one of those DJs where it's really beneficial to hear him for a 4 hour set or more. That way, you're hearing the full spectrum of his sound. Some of the tracks he plays during his longer sets are just . You'll never hear anything like it anywhere else.
Ricardo has publicly said that he has a problem with Bush and that's why he hasn't played in the States. There is a lot of speculation on other message boards such as RA that he will be coming for DEMF this year. Although it's only speculation, I can see where they're coming from as Bush is now gone, a popular president is in office, and it's DEMF's 15yr anniversary. It'd only be too fitting.

I missed Old Miami the year I went and I'm definitely not missing it this time. The year I went I failed by going to the M_NUS afterparty. Definitely not doing that again. There have been some other really good, not as well promoted (for a reason) afterparties that have happened the last few years that I've had my eye on that I hope are happening again this year.
Definitely making the most of the afterparties this year too.
