I've never seen my screen name used these many times in one post. I think I love you.

Ok, maybe people are "wanting to stop the disease", but are you honestly telling me that you don't think news sources all over the world aren't capitalizing on the fear-mongering potential of this story? Many of the news articles are over dramatizing the situation, or misrepresenting the facts/numbers. It's all to get more reads and more hits because it's all about making money.
The "hype" is coming from the media, plain and simple. If it weren't for the insane coverage over this ridiculous thing, Egypt would not be killing pigs, and Argentina would not be banning flights to Mexico. People would have gone on with their daily lives being none the wiser.

Seriously now, I don't care for the news sources and what they do because the behavior you're mentioning is always expected, no matter the current event/s. Media will always do what they need to do.
TBH, I care more about the worsening rep of Mexico (as if it was significantly better before) and its citizens. Soccer teams are being discriminated against and isolated in international competitions. But even this I expected and knew was coming.
The "hype" is coming from the media outside Mexico. The country just took precautions to stop the spread of the disease. I'll even say they reacted late to the situation.
You should google-news José Ángel Córdova (Mexican Health Minister) to get some information on the cases. I know, again from news in Spanish, the disease has affected more young people, specially female. But I don't have a source to give you the complete health background check of each case. I doubt you can get that.

You are just as retarded as Theresa. Read the rest of the thread. Normal flu strains don't kill healthy, middle-aged people; this one does. |
Yes, a normal flu can absolutely kill someone and it does to more then 30,000 people a year, maybe more.
