I gain. If I have 35 instances of z3ta, 2048 has no popping, and 512 does.

Also, if this is the case than it is more proper to say 512+, because if it makes no difference, then why prefer 512 over 2048?

what you should conclude from that is that your computer is ready for the trash, or that u need an external soundcard not that 2048 sounds better that 512. caus it doesnt.

My computer and the sound is from 2008. Using 512 is redundant.

Nah, I use a really good signal booster.

Anyways, Perfect example of other people going off topic. DJ RANN being "other people"

But seriously if ur track start poping at 512 samples, you should check your computer/drivers etc beacuse that shouldnt really happen in 2009. You could try install Asio4All-drivers, it helped me when I was stuck on motherboard. If not get a external soundcard and you could experience soundimprovenment too, not just latency/CPU improvements.

edit: 35 instances of z3ta? wtf u need that for? are u making drums with it?

Its an example. the contention that 512 Samples is all the world will ever need from now on is pretty retarded. Set your latency to 512 and open 35 instances of z3ta in a layer and play them all at once, tell me if it doesn't pop.

Anyways, I'm up for anyone to be mod, minus ban/gignore ability.

it doesnt matter beacuse ill never ever need 35 instances of z3ta. i will actualy never need anyone at all. Im not saying that 512 is the answer but its low enough so its not annoying to wait for play/stop when fiddling with the pianoroll and its high enough to avoid problems IF u have ok gear, combined with common sence usage of your daw. For others, recording hardware they will often have to go lower but going higher just proves that u have shit hardware, wrong drivers or using it all wrong (see knowledge).
