If you grew up after that period, then you probably saw the ongoing drama about his various court cases, his deteriorating face, marriage to Lisa Marie, etc.

I'm friends with Michael Jackson's cousin and I've visited Neverland Ranch numerous times.

Michael was a genuine good fellow. He will definitely be missed.

>> "No Squeaks Motherf*cker!" <<
Quincy Jones gets the best of out Jacko

"A friend of mine was in Los Angeles 79 thru 87.
Michael Jackson had had a huge hit with Off The
Wall, and was recording the follow up.

"The sessions were arranged for a very late start,
and, after a night on the town, my mate popped
around to the studio to see the producer.

"He got into the control room to find that
everyone's attention was fixed on the glass
window. On the other side, Quincy Jones was kicking
a pile of rags on the floor while shouting
"Silent, you mother******! I said NO SQUEAKS!"

"It turned out the pile of rags was a gibbering
Michael Jackson. They were recording a new song
called Billie Jean, and Michael had decided
to fill every gap with his trademark whoops,
clicks and squeaks. Quincy, however, had decided
that the track would be a pared down.

"After several hours of trying to get the
singer to do what he wanted, and having consumed
large quantities of ragedust, Jones had finally
snapped and attacked the poor freak. Needless
to say, after the outburst, MJ sang the song
how he was told to, and the rest is history."

mj made some great music no doubt, but why the fuck would you wanna be at his funeral? they gave out 17,500 tickets and are expecting over 700,000 people to show up. picture the sea of hysterical freaks crying and moaning like they just buried their only child and life is over. so unnecessary to be around... i just don't see the appeal. i'll watch the highlights on comedy central instead.

So is death, but I don't think you're gonna want to rush towards that, will you?

I love the way AEG is handling the whole thing.

They've put it out there that the tickets were "inspired" and "designed" by Micheal himself, in the hope (which seems to be working) that fans won't turn them back in for a refund, and keep it as personal peice of memorabilia.

Wonder where they could have got the idea?.....

August 2002

"We reminded you a few weeks back of a time
when Michael Jackson cancelled a concert,
which would potentially have lost him
millions in refunds. So he sent a refund
cheque to each fan, with his official
signature on it, ensuring that
rather than cash the cheque, almost every
fan kept it as a special memento."

^lol absolutely brilliant. i heard on npr the other day that a thank you note michael wrote to some guy named greg sold for $20,000 at auction in vegas. fucking lunatics

i was gonna say, all funerals are once in a lifetime opportunities. that doesn't mean i want to go to them, but i will pay respect if i knew the person well. but the kind of funeral where people are there just so they can say they bought the shirt, i'll pass on...
