Having driven extensively in the US and Europe I find that in the US when driving is considered "dead time" so people don't have a problem with getting on the phone, applying makeup, etc.
I've lost count of the number of times I've called people and they've said 'it's ok to talk now, I'm driving'. |
i wouldn't go as far as to say i never talk or text while in the car. i only text at stoplights though i don't understand how people can sit there and text and drive. i don't really like talking on the phone period, but i do talk while driving sometimes and i'm always paying more attention to my driving than the convo. i'll say "what" a lot and be halfassed listening before finally i tell them i gotta go because i'm driving.
