The soundtrack he did for Into the Wild was amazing. I'd have killed to see him solo.

you would have killed to not.

*eddie comes out on stage, place goes nuts...eddie tells everyone to sit down because it is not going to be that kind of show*.

that is all i have to say, save the money and go see jimmy buffet, because eddie vedder without the power chords and reverb is just another douche with a guitar

edit another tidbit.: best part of the show was a heckler who kept screaming, "eddie! eddie! eddie!". I don't know if you have ever been in the salle wilfred peltier, but that place is made for acoustics. You think that stereo is the temple of sound? Think again The guy would not stop until eddie said, "it's ok i know my name".

*crowd laughs. silence as eddie waits for it to die down. Just as eddie thinks everything is quiet enough to go on...*

same heckler yells , "george st pierre calisse!!!!".

we all laughed and left 10 minutes later. best part of the show was the heckler.

ha ha funny review about Manson.

Reminds me that hillbilly first act i saw at Bell Center once, came on stage with his American flag and the first thing he says is "God bless the USA! If you are not American and you don't speak English get the fuck out of our country"

It was pretty much over for him right there... think he didn't realized that Montreal was not in the US.

if mariyn manson had a quebec flag, he probably would have pissed on it. From what i saw, his fan base would have loved him more for it. Like i said before, even if i don't really dig his music, the man is a showman if i have ever seen one.

He didn't just spurt a "set list" out like the crowd was not there. He worked them, and they loved every minute. He's no david bowie, but working a crowd like that is a lost art

Po-tay-to
Po-tah-to

Eddie Vedder's Into the Wild soundtrack had near exclusive rights to my ipod for several months on end, and it contains as many power chords as Luciano's tracks have Celeda's vox over the top. He is amazing imo.

Wow...I feel like I missed out ALOT.......after reading about the best parties attended by the veterans. Anyway, my raver`s diary is quite recent since I debuted my journey not that long ago but here goes my list.

Top 5 best party

5. Paul Van dyk @ Millenium + Kyau & Albert @ Circus, August 08.
This was my first time going to two parties back2back and it was a good experience. I remember that PVD was scheduled to perform at Metropolis but it got sidelined to Millenium at the last minute which pissed off alot of folks because Millenium was in the middle of nowhere + it had a crappy sound system.

4. Global 2008 with Gareth Emery, Aly & fila... @ Circus, August 08
This was the best night I had with Circus. It was crowded but everyone was in the vibe and I remember that my ears got fucked the next day. (I wasnt the only one as it appears that the volume was set a bit too high with Aly & Fila maybe?)

3. Sander Van Doorn @ Red Lite, August 09.
He was supposed to play in February 09 but it got cancelled. Rumors started that he might play at BeB this year but never happened. And then finally, he showed up this summer in Montreal (Laval but wtv), and he did not dissapoint...the dutchman delivered. It was my first time seeing Red Lite`s parking being FULL at just 2:00am.

2. Resolution 08 with Markus Schulz, SVD,Steve lawler..@ Centre Bell
This was my real introduction to EDM. I only remember three things from this night. 1. Tribal sounds 2. Riff 3. A guys that smiles ....a LOT. (SVD) haha.

1. Andy Moor @ Circus + Markus Schulz @ Guv, August 09
After a dissapointing set by Andy Moor, I drove straight to Toronto for Markus Schulz with some peeps. His 6hr set was really phenomenal. However, The crowd in Montreal is wayyyyyyyyy better then in Toronto but the setup of their club was amazing though. No complains whatsoever regarding the sound system and the lasers/light show + Liquid Nitrogen blast was surreal.

Top 3 worst (experiences).

3. Ferry Corsten @ Millenium, July 08
I remember leaving midway through his set to sleep in my car, only to come back in his last hour to be bored yet again.

2. Cosmic Gate @ Red Lite, October 08
This was the second time they played here within the same year. I had a good experience the first time around but the second one was pretty lame, predictable and I was basically left dissapointed.

1. Mauro Picotto @ Parking, winter 08...
Bad trip.

Top 3 party I wish I could have attented

3. BeB, when it used to be great?
2. Gareth Emery @ Stereo
1. Sasha & Digweed @ Pepsi Forum.....

Next stop, Black & Blue for S & D.

exactly.

I was excited to see Vedder. My opinion of his show will hardly affect his career, or the boatload of money he has made from it. Excitement for a show will not lead me to see magical unicorns that make me believe anything is good just because i was there.

The guy was self serving (ie telling the crowd that paid to see him to sit down and be quiet as they showed him admiration), and blatently did not deliver the goods.
