your crazy then man. that set was completely epic. you must have mistaken prince for sasha and digweed =p |
No, he's not crazy. I was there, too, and I have to agree. Firstly, their set was exactly the same as when I saw them up here in Seattle just three days prior. Yeah, I understand that within three days they'll still be playing the same music, but in the exact same order? Bullshit. There's a reason that everything was synced up.
Secondly, there were sound issues both nights. Every time Sasha dropped a track it was a bit quieter and toned back than when Digweed would play. There was also very noticeable Ableton compression between what both of them were playing.
Lastly, really? How can you even begin to compare what they played at Coachella to what they were playing ten years ago? Coachella was filled with track after track of white noise builds, simple music that was just there for an easy reaction. None of the music was groundbreaking and it all sounded the same.
Oh, and did you notice how the tent wasn't even close to being packed? I stood by the lighting booth which was in the middle of the tent and after 45 minutes into their set there was a good twenty or thirty feet of clear space in front of the booth before you even hit the crowd. That says something, doesn't it?

Is that a serious question? What the hell is wrong with you?
Their Essential Mix kicking off the Delta Heavy tour trumps any recorded live mix ever. Their Renaissance comp is historic as well. |
This. End of discussion. Fuck, this shits all over Coachella in so many ways.

Every set they've ever done, every set they've ever thought of doing, ever set they missed, and every set they've extended, is, in no way, any better than any other. To pick a favorite child is to destroy the very essence of love and life. Sasha and Digweed planted the seed in the club, on the boat, inside the laser. Just let it grow, let it find its way, let it be. let it be. |
I'm still laughing. Jesus Christ, dude.
