I have been busting my ass since I was 12 years old, competitive swimming taught me to never accept failure, and always work harder than the people around you. Sure, I'm lazy sometimes, I post on TA and I don't always get the best grades, but when it all comes down to it, I will have TONS of experience to show to business professionals and they will be more likely to give me a try rather than say "oh, he's risky but we will give it a shot." |
what changed it for me was living in south korea. i took the peanuts i had, invested it in starting a school with a friend (who invested a hell of a lot more than me but i know since i was 5), teachings kids (come on lol i think the person who knows me best in the cor is iclone, and she will tell you hahahahaha), doing private lessons for corporate clients (hence working with execs from samsung, hyundai, kia, and a few larger conglomerates and getting contacts i could use back at home), and then cashing out.
Those contacts lead to me getting a sales manager position at one of the worlds biggest IT companies. I hated this job more than life, but i shut up and did it until i found something better). I have my dream job now, and it helps that i have a woman in my life even more successful than me pushing me to do more.
To think that so little time ago i thought i was going to be a superstar dj who did so much coke that he didn't know what planet he is on. I see the age 23 and only dream of what i could have done had i realized it earler. Some of it was luck too though.
this is turning into a live journal and a slylee post, but the quicker you realize that the ball is in your court, and no one is going to do it for you, the more successful you are going to be.
had i done this at 23...man o man.
