The difference is that this is not World War III we're talking about here. We're talking about a war between ants and humans. The americans can squash their Afghan opponents with the snap of a finger. So tell me, how is this like a war? It's a war on terrorism, not a war on Afghanistan, just like President Bush has repeated on national television time and again. If the Americans truly cared about civilian death, they would take precautions to ensure that it doesn't happen. They're the richest and most powerful damn country in the world, so don't tell me they can't figure out a way of avoiding the death of innocents.

Okay, civilian death happens during "times of war". Fine, supposedly we have to accept that as a fact of life. But you can't realistically say that every precaution is being taken by the U.S. military to ensure the safety of innocent Afghans. It looks like their point of view is the same as yours, tiesto14: "Oh well, shit happens. Live with it."
