i have never taken the train to JFK.

ACE scares me and always runs fuking retarded. 2/3 don't run on the weekend lol.

Anyways, LGA is pretty fuking easy to get to. I love that it's close to my job so I sometimes leave after work.

Jump on the N train.. get off at astoria blvd and right under the train is the bus that'll take u to the airport.

As soon as you're 30-40 miles away, people become much nicer, by magic

I've been reading a travel book recently where the writer spent a few weeks in New York and noted people in diners saying things like 'Jesus Christ, I haven't even looked at the menu yet, would ya gimme a minute?' when the waiter came over to take their order.

when i first moved here - the only thing i really knew was my train and i take it for an hour.. so i know it pretty much from the beginning of the line till mid town.

Some older women, 50's or so.. were looking at these new trains that show where it's going to stop. One of them read 5th ave 59st... when we were clearly going over the Manhattan Bridge towards Brooklyn and thought that it was 5th ave in Manhattan.

She starts talking about how 'that's where Tiffany's is' and how they'll get off there. NO ONE SAID ANYTHING TO THEM! I was like - excuse me, that's 59st in Brooklyn. They were so thankful and they weren't even near me.

these ppl were gonna get off in some - not a bad area but come on .. compared to 5th ave in the city lmfao

it's not that people intend to be rude they just can't be bothered with strangers. there are just too many people for you to possibly care about plus this is a me me me city.

To his defense, Trump didn't even really look like a bum.

I find it hard to believe someone had a bad food experience in NYC. It's the food mecca of USA. This can only happen if you picked a place that is devoid of people (very hard in NYC) and it also sells candy and cigarettes in the front and pandas in the back. Even the street vendors make good food.

+1

i've been to NYC a couple of times, and enjoyed it everytime. if i retire, i would just be a homeless man and walk throughout the 60+ blocks of central park everyday to look at the scenery and people and go to the mini zoo. the food is excellent (restaurants and street vendors). as for people's manners, i say meh. i really don't take too much offense if someone is staring at me or doesn't return a "you're welcome" when i say "thank you". i have learned not to expect anything in return when you give something. yes odd, but meh.

as for walking around nyc in the middle of the night. hell i was walking around at 1 am by myself, and i didn't have any problems.
