I would say "repost", because I can personally recall at least 3 threads I started on this subject myself... but I can't be arsed to locate them now.

I have been blessed to have witnessed "Pulse" tour live and it was the greatest memory of my youth. Seeing "Comfortably Numb" played live with that giant mirror ball was nothing short of mind blowing. for the first time in my life I was trully high, while completely sober.

There's interesting side to being a Pink Floyd fan - I started out as a fan with "Momentary Lapse of Reason" and was not too impressed with "Dark Side of the Moon". I loved the "Division Bell" but did not really dig "Animals"... but as I got older, I discovered the side of Pink Floyd that I'd never expect to consume me... and that is the very early Pink Floyd.

Only recently did I begin to appreciate the sublime beauty of the Dark Side of the Moon and my head was completely blown off with "Live at Pompeii". Watching the video below in a dark room is like being back in mother's womb... it's that comforting. There's something almost otherwordly about it. I just zone out, definitely in a total trance - if trance music had origins, this is definitely a ground zero:



so, yeah. I'm a total Pink Floyd whore...

Dance music today would be nowhere without Pink Floyd having paved the way.

"Meddle" was another highly underappreciated album... "Echoes" alone was worth the trip, erm... listen

I was watching Pink Floyd's "Dark side of the moon" documentary and I was simply blown away by the complexity of the composition process and how awe-inspiring Pink Floyd's music is. Hundreds of years from now, I believe their music will be studied and performed with as much reverence and dedication as Mozart, Bach, Bethoven, etc.

I feel trully priviledged to have lived in an era when I have witnessed what could very well be a once in a lifetime occurence. I do not believe there's another band quite like PF that I will see emerge again in this lifetime.

Too bad you're letting those stereotypes keep you from enjoying the wonderful works of DT. Admittedly, their latest efforts have been rather generic dull metal, but 'Scenes From A Memory' is to this day my favorite music album of all time.

Oh yes. The 'Comfortably Numb' solo is one of the most enjoyable pieces of music I've ever, and will likely, come across.

I'm not a diehard Floyd fan but do really enjoy their material but never really liked 'The Wall'. Hmmm.
