Most producers dont even bother to record real instruments or even original vocals either for full vocals or even just dub vocals anymore. Thats half the problem right there.

It's kind of tiring.

You'll almost never hear me play tech house my friend lol

tech house is a broad term and has nothing to do with clicks and clacks.

go listen to old Jay Tripwire releases and you will understand that OP would not know what he was talking about if it took a shit on his chest.

I'm more upset about that rather than the actual club scene in Toronto.

lol it's funny you say that when there's an amazing trance party happening this weekend.

I think you misread my post:

I do have eyes. I saw it. And my opinion is that I still think it's funny you say that when Stoneface and Terminal and Ronski Speed are coming this weekend.

Your comment isn't making sense then, since I am pumped for friday and I'm also not all that concerned about the amount of upcoming Trance parties in the area (at least now).
That and Ronski's style hasn't deviated much from how he was years ago.

If every song sounds the same, has the same structure, etc - it's easier to be played by less-skilled DJs and more likely to result in higher ratings on beat port/whatever.

Load up the latest Vengeance Tech-House sample CD, cut up a few loops, layer a few effects in from Ableton and slap-on a preset baseline and you have a track that sounds like every other / mixes into every other track out there.

Bingo!

Much of the issue with today's electronic music is the disposable nature of it... new producers churning out paint-by-numbers tracks with little or no personality or originality. It's all about quantity over quality and the primary concern being beatport's charts rather than actually writing a good song that will stand the test of time... on top of that SO MUCH good music is overlooked on beatport because many dj's jump right to the top 100 of each genre.

With today's ease of use and affordable technology there should be NO EXCUSE for using these lame sample/loop cd's (the same ones being used again and again) or for sampling another artists work.
If you really love the music how about learning to play an instrument or two, and using your ears to teach yourself how to CREATE rather than imitate.
