Agreed.
Jesten, I myself live in the USA, but for all its strengths, this country is behind Europe in many aspects, and one of them is electronic music and Trance.

Just like we still use inches and feet, whereas they use the standard metric system. Just like we have cable poles that get destroyed after each rainstorm, and they have all the cables safely tucked underground. Just like we don't have a well-developed transportation system, and they have buses, trams, trolleys, trains, etc. Just like there are very few Americans using cell phones or flat-panel monitors, compared to Europeans.

icebreaker you know, i finally realized that you know me better then i know myself. you're right, i only like trance because i have this desire to be different and i want to be you. i don't have any other taste in music except trance i don't own any other type of genre especially nothing that is mainstream. all i know is that you have a great incite into my life and that i was very wrong to say mean things to you. i think you must be the smartest person on tranceaddict.

floorfiller

your list starts with the first and ends up to the 2cnd..mini-lol
but its ok..im not pissed off or annoyed because i know exactly that arrogant us persons despise euro stuff..and it mustn't be music!! i mean also culture or anything like that!!so its realy a wonder that some ppl from the us listening to electro..and even they are addicted to that..wow a little miracle popped up
so i have to praise such ppl like you who give this music over there a fairly chance but but but......when sb asks us we keep on denying that we like many eu-djs...only a few of course ..maybe none of them ,isn't it so?,because we are da proud americans yes, sir!
btw..some us-stuff is really marvelous..e.g.:futurama,simpsons,fast food, action movies, good porn movies and so on...on the other hand some things can be considered as "refusable"

Look guys,

American Trance is really just BT, D:Fuse, Christopher Lawrence, Sandra Collins, and George Acosta.

And I only rank BT of all of those guys, although D:Fuse has a chance of becoming good. The other 3 are just lacking the caliber, the quality of set contruction (and production) for me to consider them something worthwhile. I know they try, but they're either too bland or too amateur for my taste

The real problem is that its just too new here. There isn't much of a scene as-of-yet. Give it time. There's too big of a following for it not to happen.

Damn fucken right... just like bananas are tropical fruit, trance is european music, and no matter how hard you people try to come up with some decent US trance producers only 2-3 names come up (BT, Christopher Lawrence). Europe will always have shitload of better trance DJs because the whole continent is 3 years ahead of US in this game, and there is a huge market for trance over there too!

As for all other DJs mentioned here, they are either Progressive DJs, House/Tribal DJs or have nothing to do with Trance. Let's just keep it the way it has always been --> TRANCE = Europe, HOUSE = USA. When you start mixing those 2, you get into trouble... (it's like trying to come up with some great House/Tribal/Progressive DJs from Europe to match Satoshi Tomiie, Danny Tenaglia, etc.)

And America owns everything else? The only thing that America owns is basketball leagues and house music... everything else is just a bunch of bullshit, brainwashed overhyped ass-shit!

You don't agree with me on this one, go fu+k yourself! (am I arrogant or what?!)

i think europeans just want something to call their own, and so if americans are good at trance then trance isnt european so much any more... IMO. Are americans physically or mententally unable to make good trance or something? cause thats what it sounds like you guys are saying.
Anyway to answer the original question, yes.

Five AM have signed and are putting out a big vocal trance tune from two producers in NEW YORK. Its by a group called QED and I'd say it was more than competition for any european trance track in the same vain i.e. Ian Van Dahl.

I think the Americans have got the musical knowhow and equipment(lush studios over there!!) to compete with europe on trance now. I think as it gets more popular over there more producers will turn their hand to it.

Lets face it, most euro trance tracks have a pretty clear format and anyone who really had the motivation to put their mind to copying/imitating/developing on it would not have too much problem with the right equipment.

lol agreed

the day that the u.s. wins the world cup will be the day that american trance will get respect.

let's face it...the u.s. is far behind because we don't have the number of people into the trance scene, not because we "can't" make trance music. just like soccer/football, imagine if all of our athletes only played soccer...i'm sure we would finally get respect. the same goes for if most of our music artists went into trance.

imo...kimball collins is my favorite american dj, bt also has to be mentioned being great, george acosta is lame, christopher lawerence is in the same boat as george acosta, josh gabriel is decent, sandra collins is boring...

but again, this is a very short list...maybe it will inspire more upcoming djs from the states...

This debate is as pointless as discussing why your taste is better than somebody else's,and will always lead to flaming. If you like US Trance, cool! If you don't,by all means don't,but don't go around flaming someone who does. And do NOT get patriotism mixed up in this.
