I've been with the same guy for 12 years, so yeah I do take pride in having a loving realtionship. Way to make very wrong assumptions though. Your specialty, I presume?

How is that even remotely an insult?

Why is that?

I often find myself lingering over the same patterns of thoughts for weeks on, and sometimes reading a book is just a way of injecting some new ideas into my brain, and that allows me to move on.

It strikes me as the wrong reason to be reading. If you're making yourself read or you're becoming sick of reading or you're simply not doing it because you genuinely enjoy it then you're approaching it from the wrong angle. Books are not a chore.

Besides, people who read lots of conceptual non-fiction or "proper" literature because they think they're supposed to are pretentious and probably insecure about their intelligence.

I doubt that people who read for such reasons would ever admit to doing so, probably not even to themselves.

I see what you mean now. But I think this is a different thing altogether. You can see something as a vessel for self-improvement while genuinely enjoying it, or in fact it can be so specifically because you enjoy it. You could apply that logic to other kinds of hobbies that have potentially productive outcomes. For example, you have people who work out alot because they have a passion for a particular sport which they see as a means of improving themselves. Likewise you have people who will perform the exact same workout routine because they think they have to, and suffer through every minute of it.

I scanned some of the sketches I did in HS. Most of them were weekly assignments. We were given a word and had to give our creation of it.

Lunch:

Sitting comfy (I actually drew this based on a shrooming experience I had where I just lazed all high and shroomed out on my buddy's chair, lol):

This was a dream I remembered having:

A self portrait:

This was one of my faves...a circle:

Lol, and then I did this for fun (inside joke this was, long story) I just realized it looks like ********! LOL!:

A contour line drawing I did:

And I sketched my sister's friend sleeping when she was all raved out one weekend:

Some of these I drew when I was 15, some of them I drew when I was 18.

In all fairness, it is if you're a student
