Canada and others are still in Afghanistan. Nobody wanted to go into Iraq. |
Afgahanistan. To this day I have no clue why we're there. But the original objective in Iraq was to free a country from a dictator. That should've been done in 1991. Which is why we kept going back.

I'm talking about Operation Iraqi Freedom. Completely different wars. I was 4 years old during the Gulf War so I can't really attest to that. |
Operation Iraqi Freedom was an extension of Operation Desert Storm. The US had Suddam Hussein in their sights for capture. Unfortunately a higher power told us to retreat. In 1998, Suddam Hussein starts up his crap again. President Clinton Calls up the military, the UN, and other countries for the invasion of Iraq. Mission not completed. See answer above. In 2004 President Bush along with the UN, and coalition forces invade Iraq for a third and we succeed. Iraqi citizens along with other forces find Suddam Hussein hiding in a cellar. He is then hung.
Now as I stated. This could shape up to be another Iraq. Hopefully not. The first Iraqi War started with air attacks only. Then ground troops moved in.

Really? The Taliban regime in Afghanistan was sheltering members of al-Qaeda. |
Pakistan harbors the Taliban too and somehow they're our allies. Afghanistan is a conflict we will be fighting for years to come.
The problem with these type of battles is, you don't know who is friend or foe. One day they're with you, the next day they're shooting at you. I've seen this way more times then I wish to count.

False. In 2002 the UN Security Council passed a resolution demanding that Iraq cooperate with UN weapons inspectors who were there to look for WMDs. The weapon inspectors found nothing. I'm a little suspicious of pretty much everything you say at this point, as it really seems like you're making it up as you go along. First of all, the invasion began in March of 2003, not 2004. Secondly, the US did not have the support of the UN for their invasion. You're either confusing the "coalition" with the UN, or you're literally just pulling "facts" out of your ass. |
Actually we started earlier than that. The build up started with certain divisions. I was sent there in 2002. Remember how I told you that there's a bottom line to everything? You just answered that question. Our mission was to remove a dictator from power. A dictator who did what ever he wanted to his people. Including murder, torcher, rape. Then dumped in mass graves. Ghadafi is no different. Why was the UN slow in moving in on Hussein? One three letter word. In think you the word.
