Seriously eh? It sounds like a really shitty job to be a DJ travelling the world for pennies.

It's sad that while all other major cities in North America (Canada included) are gaining/getting festivals, we here in Toronto are losing ours eg. Virgin festival.

I've said it before & will say it again, we could/would easily sell out a massive outdoor EDM festival if it was held, say on Centre Island. How epic would that be to have tons of people jamming out on the island to some sick dj's?

Douchebag! Go get a real job deadmau5, where you aren't travelling the world, being a DJ and you make next to nothing. It will give you something real to complain about when you only have $1.50 in your name until your next pay day.

I read about the 360 deal he signed in 2008 or 09. IF there's no money in making music anymore why would a dj who can easily demand a 50-100K booking fee sign a deal with a record label that gives them half??? Why not just keep playing out at every chance and pocketing a bigger pay cheque? Is he perhaps regretting the deal he signed with EMI? Is it really that important to have his CD in HMV if nobodys buying it?

Proud of him? An event was being planned there for over a year...but not him. There's often a lot of stuff that goes on behind the scenes in this mega City that the public isn't aware of. Often Canadian get shafted by our own people or outside interests.

I'm sure he's been advised not to post here anymore...

But he most likely reads it all though...

Let's not forget the cancellation of the "is that thing still on?" Beats, Breaks and Crap Festival at Harbourfront.

If a free, weekend-long electronic music event is cancelled due to lack of vision and general underattendance, how can you believe a large EDM fest on Centre Island would be any more successful?

With the loss of related infrastructure and industry surrounding it, people don't flock to Toronto for electronic music events like they used to. TOTA threads telling Toronto people to check out Montreal's after-hours scene for the real deal should be indication enough as to where we stand in the grand scheme of things.
