Outside of the controversy with Monsanto, I'm not all that familiar with their arguments, either. The documentary talks about a strain of genetically modified corn that is/was "infesting" corn fields in Mexico. Apparently it acts like an invasive species and was interfering with the cultivation of other kinds of corn. I don't buy the argument that, because a product is genetically modified, that it's "bad" for human consumption. Something engineered to be an invasive species and maintain a market monopoly, enforced through the use of patent law, is a different story.
