NO ONE CARES....... The sound pitch goes up or down in an sustained way, it's all the same......

Appreciated, there might be guys giving oyu credit saying "wow you vowel based lead is really different than the "modern talking" lead, KUDO's man!!!" but for the avg listener it's just another vowelpatch

other presetpushes might ask, which patchnumber is that? and what pack it's coming from? (totally ignoring your programming skills)

your idea of gratification might be very relevant within the complextro community. But from a holistic point of view, there is nothing seperating you from the genre, other than your signature melodies and how you play them. and for me your "songwriting" is what makes your music interesting to me, not your vowel or pitchshifting patch design skills. even more I would like oyur songs more when you would choose at bit more warm "traditional" (pun intended) sounds

but then again opinions are like assholes, everybody has got one...

I don't know what kind of screwed up people you're friends with who listen to music as individual sounds as opposed to the sum of it's parts but I'm quite sure you're in the minority.

But finally, since you keep insisting I'm modifying the pitch on any of those oscillators like you did AGAIN even though I repeatedly stated that's NOT what I'm doing:

Go make a bass synth and put a low pass filter on it. Crank up the resonance. Now open and close the low pass filter. What's that? It's a FILTER SWEEP. That's what you're hearing.

While you're at it, go right ahead. Try to make a vowel sound that sounds anything like the ones I created in my track without following a tutorial.

I'm glad you enjoy some of my music, but I just don't get how you don't see where I'm going with this. You might not think I'm innovating but you just said you wish my tunes were written with more traditional "warm sounding" tones because they aren't. EVERY melody has been done before, it's practically impossible to come up with a melody that someone genuinely feels like they've never heard before or heard something similar. Because of this we rely on the different timbres and sounds we can create to differentiate ourselves.

FInally, that sample I posted is out of context and not surrounded by a track, it's literally just the main drop section, the reason I posted it was to show you that I do indeed make complextro lol.

EDIT: And actually I find it amusing that you keep saying it's just another vowel sound and regular people won't be able to tell the difference, but the differences in timbre and sound are exactly how I'm able to immediately tell if a track is by Knife Party, Skrillex, Kill The Noise, Koan Sound, Feed Me or whoever else...

What I said was dripping with sarcasm...

I said that because your music DOES sound like Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz. Hell, why do you think Beatflux made that (awful sorry flux) thread comparing you with Pryda?

The reason you think your music doesn't is because once again: You know your own nuances. You know what makes you different. Nobody pays as much attention to your own music as you and therefore you might not even see the similarities.

Everyone is guilty of this, but I mean I'm well aware it's quite obvious my music is in the same genres as the artists i've been listing.

To make a long story short. Complextro is not my cup of tea.
But loads of people like it. I'm just saying when i hear your music the "Seandroid" signature for me is melody and energy distribution.
Certainly NOT the sound design. One could take your project and revoice it to any simmilar Massive Complextro preset and one could still hear it's a Seandroid track. The sound design is not where you differientate.

And when I talk about electro i mean something like this:

The stuff you admire should not be called "Electro" House

And no, the reason everyone has a problem with the Modern Talking oscillator is the same reason people have a problem with supersaws... it's because it's so ubiquitous it comes across as uncreative and lazy. It has nothing to do with whatever "Youtube tutorial" is popular. It's not narrow minded to say that people who are good producers generally try to avoid using the same samples or synth patches as everyone else...

And the reason you think my music bares no resemblance to the "complextro" you hate so much is because I stopped posting most of my music here because I'm well aware of how closed minded and bitchy this forum is when it comes to that genre of music. Most of what I post here is music I think Tranceaddict will be able to at least kind of appreciate.

Just in case you don't believe me, here's what I'm working on right now:

And every single noise you hear in there is something I made myself and I didn't learn any of that shit from YouTube tutorials because I've made a concerted effort to avoid them like the plague.

I could give you a billion examples of electro house that fits your descriptors yet is still filled with emotion and vision but I've done this so many times that it's getting old and nobody here seems willing to open their incredibly closed minds even a TINY bit to see that.

For what its worth: this sounds nothing like modern talking.

The current complextro shit is just a showcase of youtube Massive tutorials, when you take all of that stuff out there is very little left. And the weird thing? A lot of people don't judge anymore on a great melody or great progression. If the song lacks above then it's called a "dated sound"

I don't want to make this about complextro (fuck I can't even believe I'm discussing this, what an embarrassingly shit name for a genre and it's things like this endless micro genre naming that make me hate EDM) - it's not about that at all but Raphie actually fucking nailed it on in his sentiments about a lot of current EDM (regardless of genre) missing great melody, progression or composition as a whole, and being called dated if it doesn't have these current cliched aesthetics.

4 or 8 bars of some gimmicky uplifting melody surrounded by phat stuttered basslines and endless vocodered glitch FX does not make good arrangement or a musical composition.

Not an attack at you Richie; you know I'd give you dibs on my favorite a rent boy if you asked, or cup your balls on a frosty winters morn, but honestly I'm quite shocked sometimes by your apparent terrible taste in EDM at times. For someone that i know has serious chops and detailed compositional knowledge, akin to the guys I worked with, it seems you are so easily impressed by surface aesthetics and simple tricks which cover said lack of substance (with exception to your recent disco tracks). Of course, you can't explain your tastes in even a few 100 posts of youtube vids here, but still, the examples I see you put up sometimes, and the music that you enthuse about is sometimes nothing short of cringeworthy; that flash in the pan dross that is all about how big and phat it sounds, yet the content is just awful.

You know I wonder if it's a a composer thing - one of my buddies (former sub composer at RC) has the same boner for such disposable and fleeting music, to the point he's obsessive about this new phat current thing (until it moves on), yet for score work he creates some pretty beautiful, timeless and meaningful work. I wonder if it's like a release thing? Ying Yang? Fuck knows.

No, I think it's more that being a composer gives you the mental capacity to comprehend and understand multiple types of music.

I love that people keep talking about how emotional EDM is. Like I said: trance usually feels more like someone screaming "YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO FEEL UPLIFTED RIGHT NOW!!111" in my face than something actually emotional. Don't even get me started on tech house (which despite being dry & often containing practically zero melodic qualities doesn't get any shit here...)

Though I do agree that Complextro is a retarded genre name. That's why I keep putting it quotation marks

And to Raphie: Please Raphie. Inform me what fucking emotion I'm supposed to be feeling when I listen to Mars Attacks. It's extremely cold, I like it, fuck, I BOUGHT it, but you're lying to yourself if you think it has ANY emotional depth.

It's cold, scary to some maybe even. but for me it builds and unwinds energy. Something that i can very well feel in your music too.

Sean your music is melodic to me and resonates with my feelings, so nothing wrong there, would consider it better than the avg complextro track. what i was saying is if you would undo it from the harsh electro type vowel sounds it would sound even better to my ears. just revoice to some plucks, think warm soothing dense rather than harsch thin metallic from a sound design perspective. I don't like aggressive music. That's why I can't stand Knife party and such. it's just ear piercing

But as mentioned before, now i'm recommending you my preference. While this what you currently make, might be very close to you. I respect that. My perspective was never better or worse, merely my taste.
