im in a simular boat, just spent 2100 on upgrades for my jeep so im cutting back on some things, the quickest way for me to save money is actually through my dogs, im up to about 200 a month in food just for them so when things get tight i substitute 3/4 their food for raw fish from the river, which they love. so instead of going through a bag a week of food i can make a bag last all month.

also instead of going out with friends i invite them over for dinner, if it were still nice out id ride my bike around town and save my jeep only for wheeling and camping but now that its getting cold i dont have that option.

you can always start selling stuff you realize you dont need/want anymore if you got into a situation where you needed more money

one of my buddies used to leave his wallet at home everyday that way if he wanted to buy anything it took planning or an extra trip home, he saved so much money because he realized by the time he went to get his wallet that what ever he wanted to buy wasnt worth it.

yeah, just grease up your couch and floor with crisco while you play to simulate the hilarious flailing around you do on actual skates. Don't say I never did anything for you.

I'd settle for a Gulfstream IV instead of the 550 for a few trips, or cut back the wages for the staff on the expedition yacht.

I never said that... But i could see how you'd think that

People who bought vowels on Wheel of Fortune were a constant source of irritation for my mother.

BTG, the best thing to do in stagnating economy is to start spending. Now is the worst time to cut back. Start splurging and get that momentum going.
