cheese garbage? What on earth are you going on about? I bet you're a massive Gareth Emery fan.
The latest ASOT shows just how amazing Armin has been this past year (bar the InVasion tour which I agree was poor).

The guy has such a bad influence on the reputation for trance. I don't know why so many fans don't see this seeing him becoming #1 would make things worse.

sorry so remind me how the above from the latest ASOT have nothing to do with trance?
Seeing as he's fallen in love with uplifting trance again, I would hope that getting the no 1 again will show him that the fans love what he's done over the past year and want to see the uplifting stuff continue. To say his track selection is awful etc shows how little you know so stop it because you're just embarrassing yourself.

I am not a fan of Emery. Personally I much prefer if he played trance that sounded more like the track below rather than the tracks you posted. The tracks you posted have no substance in them they are nothing tracks to me and they are too loud for my ears. I prefer hearing the older sounds I don't know the technical side of things but hearing a lot of old trance records they are very trippy and addictive. I can't say I get the same feeling by listening to the tracks you posted and yes I've heard them and I don't like them sorry mate. To me they are just club dance bangers nothing more.

I understand and I love Humate and Oliver Lieb as well. Massively close to my heart. But Trance moves on. What Armin is playing and supporting now is Trance and is totally relevant to now. I'd love it if Oliver Lieb style techno / trance made a comeback but sadly I don't think it will.

Sounds to me classic trance is still being made. Why doesn't Armin support this?

Armin isn't a good dj
I think there's nothing really wrong with his mixing skills, but dj-ing is more then just mixing a couple of tracks. It's also track selection, flow ... and Armin sucks at that. Actually most of the 'popular' mainstream trance dj's suck at it and don't have a clue how to properly dj. They just bang out one big hit after another. On the one hand it's just lazyness from their part, on the other hand they just have a dumb audiance that doesn't know any better.
I expect more from a dj, you apparently don't

Congrats to Armin for getting no1 well deserved imo. The guy has done so much for the trance scene in the last 10 years. He is a legend! Also really happy to see John O'Callaghan and Bryan Kearney in the top ten, well deserved.
Good to see PROPER trance back on the rise

Well it frustrates me that producers don't want to produce those kind of tracks with those addictive and trippy percs and sounds. I mean all this talk about bringing back the meaning of trance and stuff the answer is right there in front of them. I am not saying to produce the same tracks just the same passion they used to put. Even with Airwave's new album I highly respect him the only track to me that resembles his old stuff for me was Cathedrals of Hope I didn't mind his album though it was a lot better than what most of the stuff being released. Armin hardly shows any support for Airwave Cathedrals of Hope had it been made in 2006 I think Armin would have definitely supported the track back then these days he's only played one track from his new album.

@Tom these comments by Armin also pissed me off a lot. I think if you do speak to a lot of house fans they'll tell you that they don't consider Guetta or SHM to be House music.
The very last part calling the big room shit as the future.
quote:
"I thought that was it, and house music was taking over," he says of Guetta's triumph last year, briefly breaking the proliferation of the Dutch trance master. "I've been really impressed by a lot of the new house guys, and I've been to a lot of house gigs over the summer. All that new energy that they're bringing, I thought 'OK, this is the future'."
Don't agree with this I know judging from your posts on other forums you may agree with Armin.
quote:
"2012 has been one of the best years ever for trance music,"
quote:
"You see guys like Orjan Nilsen, Andrew Rayel or Matt Davey, there's a whole list of new artists coming, and they're all bringing something new to the table," he says. "Some guys like W&W are playing a more house-based strand of trance, and all the styles are merging. Some people call Swedish House Mafia trance. But people are still experimenting with the harder edge of trance. It is not just one sound."
Merging of styles has existed since edm first began and its the same thing with Trance as well he talks a lot of BS Armin and since when is orjan nilsen new? He's been producing since 2006.
