This a thread for AVB @ Story, let's keep it on that.
On that note, I'm stoked for this show. ASOT 2012 is sublime, and his 600 sets have rocked. I'm hoping he plays 4 hours, and if so, it'll be the best concert since NYE.
If you're not into Armin anymore, that's your deal, but why say it here? I'm into Armin more now that I was 10 years ago. It doesn't bother me that world's best DJ wants to book a nice gig. Like MSG, he gets to choose his venue, although I'd rather see him play at more large crowd-friendly venues, like a solo set at EDC. If Story wants $175 for a male ticket, I'll pay it because Armin's set is going to rock, and this is the best way to close out WMC.
As for my fellow TAs boasting about scalping their tickets, being a middleman selling goods has been a way to make money for millennium. I personally find it low class to scalp these tickets, like a drug dealer making money off his friends.
I can't wait for Miami and this show, and hope to see people there who love Armin's music as much as I do. |
Into Armin more now than 10 years ago? Yikes man...Not trying to make fun of you but how? He was my favourite DJ and is the reason I began a local trance radio show to spread the awareness of trance music (and to learn to DJ as well), but I have been so disappointed in him over the past 24 months that I can't be forced to listen to an ASOT Episode or go see him live (no matter what the price is).
It has already been said in this thread multiple times, but I agree with everyone saying his best interests are now to make tons of money and not to support Trance. He is supporting popular commercial "fad" type of dance music. I wouldnt categorize him as a trance DJ at all anymore. Nothing about his live sets or ASOT shows puts one into a "state of trance." The man has completely lost his sense of how to program a set from start to finish that has a good flow and gets your feet moving to the sound of trance. It's just ear grinding bangers after bangers and anthems after anthems. And yes he does play a couple good tracks in his live sets and ASOT shows, but just a couple good tracks doesnt do it for me. I expect a lot more.
Anyhow, just wondering how his current sound is better to you than what he played 10 years ago?
