I don't have a job. I'm an employer. Setting up a business here is much easier if you have the know-how, and contacts. Subsidies and a much lower tax burden/salary burden make it much more attractive.

Canada only gives free reign to large corporations, small to medium businesses are handicapped in this respect. 15% import tariffs + capital gains tax on top of this make it only slightly profitable. I hold a European passport as well, and some countries are much more competent in encouraging any type of investment/job creation.

No, they are; however, that particular market is principally dominated by one firm (Tim Horton's). There are a handful of other players (Starbucks, Robin's Doughnuts, Coffee Time, Country Style) but they are pretty insignificant in terms of total numbers and all serve terrible coffee.
