Even if I wasn't 3 years older than you you'd still be a little streak of piss. Just listen to you. "Cred"? Fuck me.

I don't understand why I have to sit here and jab at my keyboard trying to yammer and express in language my opinions about some dj to you honestly.

Because you called for "constructive" discussion, and this is a discussion forum. And yet all you've done is accuse anyone who doesn't agree with your piss-streak opinion of not having heard Troxler enough, and then when people point out there are dozens of sets available online showcasing Troxler DJing poorly you just call them names. See? Total piss-streak behaviour. So how about you dry your eyes, wipe your nose, unclench your little fists and actually raise an argument in defence of Seth Troxler that doesn't make you sound like a little bitch? It's really not much to ask.

Or alternatively, you could accept that people have every right to rag on a DJ who you admit can't even get it together most of the time and fuck back off whence you came.

Indeed they absolutely do have the right. In your projective diatribe you forgot to process the thought that I never said otherwise.

Constructive discussion to me is talking about things like the general perception of things like this poll and where we go from here as a culture. Where does the music go. Not defending my opinions of some dj to some people who obviously have their own opinions.

Yes you did, you prat. You said anyone hating on him either hasn't heard more than one set or that they're just going on his personality. In other words, denying anyone the right to legitimately think he's a poor DJ. You can try and retcon that all you want, your words are there for all to see.

Which is vaguely my opinion, and probably true, that if you've seen him on a good night he's undeniably great, yes anyone with ears would say so. So again you're wrong and jumping to conclusions. If you've seen him a handful of times and still think he's shit you have the right, but I also have the right to tell you you're deaf. That's all this comes down to. I don't have to defend myself any further than that. Take it or leave it.

But since you're so keen on arguing today and talking about Troxler, let's talk about this:

https://soundcloud.com/outputclub/o...01-seth-troxler

Poor DJing? Get a hold of yourself.

Very true, I like that. But it also doesn't mean he is not.

In an objective poll - one in which people don't vote based on the events they have on their calendars - he wouldn't be ranked that high.

I would really like to meet some of these "kids". Sounds like they have good taste.

The most basic think a DJ is supposed to do is have a good transition. That is like step 1. If he is fn up transitions, might as well have karaoke dj night and let random people in the crowd pick the next song.

The other thing is to not confuse how much fun the party was with who the DJ was. Some of the best parties I ever went to involved Ferry Corsten DJing cheesy early 2000s epic trance which I dont even like. But it was tons of fun as the crowd ate it up. That doesnt make Ferry a great DJ and it doesnt mean I cant have fun at that party while still saying Sasha was and is way better.

I am not arguing that Troxler on a good night with a good crowd cant throw a fun set that has the crowd rolling. But that doesnt make him a great DJ. I can have tons of fun watching a michael bay's transformers but that doestnt make him Orson Wellles and his movie as good as citizen kane.

The main argument from posters on this thread has been that Troxler is overrated in this poll and there are superior DJs way below him. Troxler has mastered the look. A lot of his popularity lays in the fact that he is a young guy and looks and acts like the kids at his shows and plays records that his audience knows and loves.

So do a lot of other DJs. When it comes down to the best of the best, we get our microscopes out.

And that's why he's not great.

He loses points for his professionalism before we even start nitpicking about anything technical and beyond.
