I compared the Pioneer to the Technics headphones in the store before buying .. the sales dude swore by the Technics, but to my ears the Pioneer had a better, crisper sound with less distortion. However, they were plugged into different mixers, and they were both store demo models, so who knows how much they'd been thrashed...

I've used these a fair bit over the last week, and no complaints so far

i've got the hdj1000s and have also used the technics hps before. IMO the pioneers shit all over the technics. The sound is better, they're more comfortable and the technics feel really loose. It's not even close imo.

all the other external gear ive sold (usual novation boxes and a k2000). pics are from last year so things have been moved around a lot and look a lot cleaner..

Technics headshells with ortafon pro S needles.

Stereo is a Panasonic with 2x 110 watt speakers.

Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 4100.

Got a nice big table from Ikea last week aswell as the sound system. Recently moved all the equipment into my room which is a recipe for disaster as i go back to uni in a few weeks
