that's exactly the whole point of this thread.... i'd say that a good 70% of the posts out there regarding american policy is good intelligent stuff. besides the odd post like, "bush is a moron, let's burn him." there are many posts that are based on fact and throrough analysis. so how is ANY of that considered bashing?? in the wake of everything that has happened to america, it is only natural to defend their country so fervently. but i think sometimes you just need to step back and see the truth in what other people say.
if someone were to criticize the canadian government here (and there is no shortage of things to pick on) i don't think you'd see 100 canadians jumping in and accusing people of flaming and bashing. no government is perfect. if someone decides to point out some flaws in a politcal system, its not called bashing.

because some of them love their country and way of life and take it as an insult? maybe because they constantly see negative threads about america they dont read it all properly and think it is bashing america? SOME people are like that, yes. and so what? perhaps if people like you didnt post useless threads like this one, or if other people didnt post so many threads about usa they wouldnt be pissed off! the usa has a global presence and you just have to accept it. you might not like but stiff shit. some people probably cant see past a paragraph of words and understand the point of the argument. well too bad. there are people like that everywhere, not just in the usa. and just because some of them post here on tranceaddict forums, they do not represent the entire population.
and verona^my....
thats a big statement. yes the ira has performed terrorist acts before, but now they are more into the political side of things with sinn fein. i think it has been a while since the ira was responsible for a car bombing or murder, its more extremist groups now. i wouldnt just label them a 'terrorist group' like that without reading the history of what and why they have done what the have done.

i think the point of this post was lost somewhere amongst the chaos...
the US is the most influential country in the world there is no two ways about it. It is only natural that people will discuss and critique the workings of its political system as decisions made by the US have implications world wide. I guess there is a proportion of people who become overly defensive whenever this topic is brought up - perhaps this isnt suprising with all the senseless anti-america shit stirring that goes on, but you have to realise that there are some pretty pathetic arguements spewed up by people on both sides of the fence

well bedrock its been over 2 weeks since you posted that, are you going to answer to what people have said? or was this just another one of you pointless posts? as someone said in mirc, 'attention seeker' comes to mind...
how about we never think about bashing america again, and while were at it, never criticize israel either. were americans or israelis and we know were right.

free speech is tolerated. when will you begin to see that freedom of speech cannot be GUARENTEED by something so abstract as a document on paper, which cannot preserve itself.
