Aye that was me

Armin was loving that shirt, so stoked he signed it too!

I'm going to have to do a new one for the Gold Coast Two Tribes this weekend, and surprise him

Self made my friend, from a picture taken off the net. I'm sending my spare print to Waxology so he can wear it at Gas this Friday night

Hehe Matt, I'm glad someone managed to get Helen's leg warmers on record, because I didn't. It's a very nice outfit Helen, first time I've seen you in leg warmers!

You guys have some interesting stories!

Ok I'll now try to document my experience.

I get to Lidcombe railway station to catch a train to Olympic park. On the train I find some guys on the way to the event too, and chatted with them while one of them had a line off the seat. It looked pretty funny. .

Then on the way from Olympic Park station to the queue I bump in to an old friend, and went into the line with them. I watched them hide their gum. After getting security-checked, I realise I needed to get a ticket to get in (I bought through inthemix) so I queue up for the send time, this time for the ticket booth, and then get felt up again.

As I get in I bump into 2 differrent groups of friends and chatte with them in succession as I milled around waiting for other friends.

I then decided I might as well wait inside one of the rooms, so I decided to go to the Godspeed room. I spent around half an hour there and danced a bit. I loved the trancecore, also known as "freeform"... well it certainly wasn't happy hardcore or hardcore.
Did anyone venture into this room? Some people think it's too fast, but that's what I like about it, the strong energy and the hard beat. There were quite a few people in there.

I then went outside and bumped into some other friends, walked in with them into the Godskitchen arena.

Then it was quickly time for the meetup (a bit late though), so I went back out, but there were no rides nor Red bull store. A quick call to Joel fixed that up, and found a few tranceaddicts in the lobby of the Godskitchen arena. There were webmeister, Helen, Chookie and bragi, and I met for the first time waXology (and friend) and S_madis. As the crew was going in I went straight back out to meet James' workmate, then came back in when Judge Jules came on.

Judge Jules's set didn't do much for me. He only played a few good tracks, e.g. Rank 1 - Awakening (cosmic gate remix?) and System F - Solstice. His behaviour looked a bit kooky. That Austin Powers' "yeah baby" sample just didn't feel like it in with the tracks.

Armin made my night. His set was mostly top-class. Most of the tracks were great, and I especially loved 3 Fingers - Frozen Feburary, the new remix of Flaming June. I loved the original and the old remixes, this remix sounded great too and I've never heard any remix of Flaming June at any event before, so it was pure bliss to hear it! I had to tell everyone around me about this remix of Flaming June.

It was a great experience being around so many people who share the love of trance, we were all really into it, smiling, casping our hands together, nodding our heads in approval, and raising hands in the air whenever those moments that call for it arise. I found Jace and Gil, and met for the first time Ves, Trancey Ash, fush and friends.

I wanted to get a photo of all of us with Armin playing in the background and with the lasers behind him... it was very impractical, as you'd understand if you were there (there were so many of us!), but I attempted it... the flash didn't go off, but they still turned out interesting. You'll see the results soon.

Then as we all dispersed as Warp brothers started to play, I went looking for friends I was meant to meet up with at the start, but still hadn't! Bumped into more old friends along the way, then I finally found them and chatted on the lawn for a while. Then went off to the 3D arena, where I took some photos and tried looking for other friends I had lost during the night. I didn't like the music so we went to the Godspeed arena. The music was too fast for my friend, so we went back to the Godskitchen arena. I found a group of friends I had met at last year's Two tribes and danced with them. Later I found Tranzmit and his friend James, and chatted and danced a bit with them until it all finished at 8am.

I got home, showered, slept, woke at 4:12pm, ate continuously but slowly for 5 hours, read through this thread, felt like I should join in and say something, and so started typing this up.

My main disappointment is that I didn't see a few friends that I wanted to hang with a bit during the night, like the old friends I bump into and intend to meet up with later.

I wouldn't say security was strict, I've experienced much tighter... probably Back to basics in March 2000 at the Macquarie university Atrium. We had to take off our socks, which is why the line was going so slowly. I waited for two hours in the queue. Two Tribes this time was put on by Powerhouse productions, and they used the security company they usually use for their events like Utopia.

It did seem a bit disorganised, but not to a large extent. It was good that we didn't have to wait so long in the queue, espcially good when considering that I had queued twice.

It was good that there were lasers this time, 3 green ones in the Godskitchen arena, and 2 in the 3D arena. I don't think they were as powerful as the ones we had at Transmission a couple of weeks ago, but were still okay. They made for some nice shots of the DJ, especially Armin.

I wonder if anyone was fined for using a camera. I was a little worried, but when Armin got on, other feelings overwhelmed the paranoia. I've been to a lot of events but have never been told that cameras were not allowed. Was it specified on the flyer?

Enjoy this Friday's event at Gas, it's pretty short notice isn't it? Did anyone know about this before Two Tribes? I'll be staying in Canberra and then straight off to Two Tribes in Melbourne. Are you coming webmeister?

It was good seeing the usual tranceaddict crowd, and meeting S_madis, Eff_Bee, waXology, Ves, Trancey Ash, fush and friends. I think I missed meeting Crasher Kid and maybe a few others.
