the peeps on the P90X forums keep telling me to combine the two....what is Insanity and what are the benefits (or, I shoudl ask: whats the difference of this versus P90?)

as for P90X, I love the routines, I am doing well. The only one I really, really hate is the one with the 1000 pushups. I think I would rather slit my wrists than to do this one....

Chest & Back is rough indeed. On my last round, I did 270 of the different style pushups. What a great workout

Insanity is basically ALL CARDIO. From what I can tell it seems to be on par with the difficulty that Plyometrics offers. There's a lot of crazy shit in that routine. If you really want to trim down, I'd do Insanity. But if you want a total body makeover, do P90X.

I may need to look into this. I have seen great results on ALL areas of my body, except the tummy. I think I need to increase the cardio, so maybe this will work?

yes, the pushups are really tough. Maybe its the girl thing, I dont knw, but I do really well on the biceps/back/triceps/etc, so i am not thats it. All I know is that I feel really sore after the pushup one

I noticed this a little bit, but my results showed a pretty decent tummy improvement. I credit the addition of cardio X in phase 3. Insanity will give you better tummy results because there's more cardio.

You must not have a very strong chest. Don't worry about it, keep working at it and you'll get there. You can do them on your knees too, no honor lost.

Damn, that's a bit much. I would recommend just starting over instead of pounding yourself like that, your body needs rest.

Pushups aint shit. The best way to get strong/make progress is to do as many FULL/proper pushups to failure (even if at the start you can only do one or two), and then finish out on your knees to failure. Do 3 sets, each time adding one extra full pushup before you go to your knees. Keep doing this each time you work out, adding more and more full pushups each time, and before you know it you'll be rocking the shit out of them.

After 2 or 3 weeks when I first started doing them I was doing 3 full sets of 15-20 proper pushups.

And don't forget there are different techniques that target different muscles. Youtube tricep pushups! I do those a lot and it's really made a difference in the tone of my arms.

And a super easy and effective workout for triceps is overhead tricep extensions. If you don't want beefy arms use less weight and do more reps. I use a 10lb dumbell and do 3 sets of 20.

Thanks I didnt say I couldnt do them, I just said they were tough! Its the only workout where I have felt legit sore the next day, and I am a bit shakey towards the end of the workout in getting all the reps in.....I do need to improve, though (Im not kissing the ground or nothin!) so I will take your advice and hopefully I can get to the point where I dont feel so shakey at the end of the workout! No knees-pushups for me

Tricep pushup, this lady looks gangsta:
