S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for the PC is rather nice, spent a few hours over the last couple of days on it. Graphics are not on par with HL2 or F.E.A.R. but it's very immersive.

Briefly, my 7900GTX doesn't seem to want to play nice though. Funny HDR and all the other eyecandy work fine in other games but not in this? I think it's because they tacked it on towards the end of the game's development so it may not be coded too efficiently. Not sure though, still good fun, we'll see how long it takes to get boring if it does!

Your GPU should run that fine with HDR. I run Oblivion at max HDR and almost max settings on everything else (1920x1200 res) quite easily on my Geforce 7950 GTX (laptop version). Something must be wrong with the game

What I'm saying is that everything else runs fine cranked, but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. doesn't seem to want to. My PC is a 4400+ X2 Athlon 64, 2gb of Kingston DDR400, high end ASUS mobo, fairly good GPU but yeah. Poor code I'm guessing, expected abit more polished a product after all the delays but meh.

All lower resolutions look crap on a 30" monitor. Anyway, Halflife 2, Company of Heroes, Supreme Commander, F.E.A.R., and many other games look fine cranked. I honestly think it's poor code in the game but who knows? Could be an anomaly? lol.
