obviously vinny would be a popular choice, the all star game showed that, but that contract he's on at tampa is huge. I think they want to shift him cos they're going to be in with about a 1 in 4 chance of having John Tavares in the draft with NYI, Toronto & Atlanta. Hopefully Ottawa move away from that bottom end cos I'd hate it if he went there.

interesting read.

i don't think there will be too many deals made this year, it is too hard with the cap and rental players really have not paid off for teams in the last few years.

look at Pittsburgh and Hossa, that trade is the reason they are so weak this year, they gave too much and lost Hossa.

Speaking of cancers, I can't think of a single Finnish NHL player that would fit the description (honest!). Niinimaa was, but he's not in the NHL anymore.

I might find one but it's in Finnish so..

The reason they got rid of him in Florida, was because he was too hard on the young guys and they quit playing. The same is happening in Phoenix, it is always easier to captain your own country men.

I have nothing against Finns once again, but this type of thing happens a lot when Russians, or any other European is captain. Euro players tend to stick together (language i guess) and it has created problems in the past. It is all semantics, and by no means is Jokinen anything other but a top tier player. It could make Koivu happy, but i have a feeling that does not matter and Koivu will Finnish ( ) his career in Minny with his little bro. He simply is not worth the money he will ask at his age vs the actual stats he is able to put up. It is not his fault, Montreal always expected him to be a 1st line center and that is not fair to him because he really isn't. Still a great player and a class act all the way.

Always? Right now?

He said that he feels at home in the second line. So if he plays fairly good in the second, that's not good enough because he's expected to score night after night in the first?

I sincerely hope he'll play Montreal til the day he quits, how many players (active) have played for the same team they did 15 years ago? I can think of two, Koivu & Lehtinen.

There really aren't that many.

Sundin.... NOT

Brodeur.

i hope he finishes his career here too!

Like i said, i think it is going to be a money thing. Minnesota wants him and will probably offer more money, so I think that call is up to Koivu. Montreal will not and should not offer him 5 million if they want to win. Kovalev has already said he will play for less to stay in Montreal, let us hope Koivu does the same. I don't think he will finish with the C if he does stay though.

I think he actually wants this, as the pressure is getting to be a bit much on him, he has been very quiet this year.

Detroit has a few.

Joe Sakic
a few others i can't think of at the moment, but there are not that many.

I'd love to see Mikko and Saku on the same team, problem is that they play the same spot and could never fit in the same line

Well, maybe not a problem, jus' sad.

uh it wasn't his fault that glen sather compiled an entire team of third liners. their defense and goaltending is fine. their offense gets more than enough chances. the problem is that you have gomez, drury, naslund, etc who are either were never first line guys or were for a few seasons but aren't anymore. zherdev is the only player on the entire team that would even sniff a first line on any other team in the nhl. you compile a team like that and i don't care who you are, you aren't going to win because you can't win in the nhl scoring 1 goal a game. only recently have the rangers had a few games wehre they gave up a lot, but that's due to the immense pressure collapsing the rest of the team due to 3rd liners who can't put the puck in the net. the real person who should be fired and never allowed to be in hockey anymore is glen sather. due to being a stupid fucking jew, instead of giving money to players that deserved it, he went back to the old style of overpaid scrub reject overrated pieces of shit. unlike the late 90s post richter injuries, they actually have a goalie so it doesn't look that bad, but if they were still throwing mike dunham out there, it would be late 90's all over again. renney is a good coach and if he ever plays for a team that is actually dedicated to keeping talent, he will win a stanley cup.

Oh, can't remember that one, it just doesn't ... fit. Maybe if Saku played D on PP or something. I can't picture either one playing wing.

Lehtinen played number 800 for the Stars last night, respect!

Does he play the point on the pp for the national team? I honestly could not tell you, but i do specifically remeber reading that they have lined up together.
