Tiësto holds his own in the trance music annals, no doubt. Recently his works have been uninspired and monotonous and no one can deny that. I mean, in this set alone he plays "Forever Today" twice (oooo, just because there's an electric violin it doesn't mean anything, same damn track) which was released on an album that had a bunch of old productions on it anyways...really.
But no one, and I mean noooo one can deny the sheer mastery of the ISOS releases (thus far) or the complete journey the Magik releases took you on. No one can honestly say that they didn't, at one point, fall completely in love with Nyana. Even if they claim to hate all of Tiësto's work right now, they probably liked it at one point. In fact, it probably drew them either into trance, or, if they already were a fan of EDM, drew them even more into it.
I will never just completely give up and bash Tiësto. Nor will I just give up and bash Oakenfold. I'm always expecting something out of them because I know that they have once captivated me and I hope that they can do the same again.
now... after all of... that... there...
ummm... this set was rather "meh" if you were to ask me. But, point is, he got the crowd into it. If he got rid of that fat, balding, annoying MC I would rate this higher. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest)... I would honestly have to rate this a 3 or 4. Something along those lines. Just kinda uninspired and I can smell that he just did this more for publicity.
