jesus christ, the levels of maturity and intellect continue to plummet in this place...

everyone who hates and constantly slags off tiesto does so with the understanding that their favorite dj is clearly superior -- a position that's essentially untenable because of its subjectivity (i.e. my taste is better than yours so i'm right). absolutism isn't a substitute for intelligence people (and it certainly doesn't make you a lot of fun at parties).

i tend to avoid music discussion because i can't take the same threads with the same stupid flaming every fucking day (tiesto sucks, asot sucks, etc.) but it's gotten to the point where gimps are now coming into the tracklistings(!) forum, in a thread meant to identify tiesto tunes(!) to spew their bullshit.

there are plenty of djs i find substandard, but for some reason i don't feel the need to constantly interject my opinion in every fucking thread i see (in tracklistings no less).

and 2 points regarding this particular set:
-- the first "forever today" was merely used as background music for the introduction and the set really began with "language" (not that it matters, as it's fairly common for a tune to be repeated).

-- this set is chock-full of new tunes so i don't understand people who are complaining of redundancy. the only reason that a majority of this set was able to be id'd is because of about a half-dozen hardcore tiesto fans who spend an inordinate amount of time and effort keeping abreast of the very latest tunes to hit tijs' record box.

if it were anyone other than these 5 or 6 individuals who attempted to ID shit, every tiesto set from the past 2 months would be riddled with unidentified tunes. in essence, these people have done too good of a job id'ing and now every tosser chimes in with "i've heard all these tunes a million times" -- no you haven't.

*don't see the Oscar's cause one movie you hated is nominated!*

That was the dumbest damn entry yet here, If we don't listen to his set's then we won't know if he becomes worse or (if the sky turns red and frogs starts ruling the earth) he actually, becomes better.
DON'T post idiot post's like that again!!!

Technically, the Tiesto bashing is sometimes justified - he does make mixing mistakes, sometimes he plays tracks at a strange tempo, or in a weird order.

But at the same time, it's really starting to get old, and no-one is contributing anything new as to "why he sucks". Everyone knows that if you're selective enough, you can find "proof" that anything sucks. Simply put, saying "if you don't like tiesto, don't listen to him" isn't going to work, because the anti-Tijs crowd feel ENCOURAGED to listen to his mixes, because they can deeply scrutinize his performance and drag out an argument with some of kind of foundation. Music is so unbelievably subjective that if Tiesto plays one track out of place, or makes one dubious transition, it can be used by some people as justification for him being a shit DJ.

So is it about being jealous? Is it about wanting to be a cool veteran of EDM? Nah, I think it's just become a boring routine for some people. They see Tiesto's name in the thread list, it excites them. They hear a bad transition in his mixing, it excites them. It's all about providing a purpose for existence: "Tiesto has done something wrong, so I can now legally (sic) say he's crap, and I will knowingly have the support of other users as well." It's just something to do. Everyone likes to be argumentative now and then, it's a way of venting frustration - and over a topic like Tiesto, it's become so banal, samey and uncontroversial that you can safely do so without significant backlash.

It won't cease until someone takes his place as #1. To all the fanboys though, just don't let it get to you. It's nothing new and biting, it's just a host of recycled, worn-out comments that we've all read before and carry no enlightenment.
