Technically, the Tiesto bashing is sometimes justified - he does make mixing mistakes, sometimes he plays tracks at a strange tempo, or in a weird order.
But at the same time, it's really starting to get old, and no-one is contributing anything new as to "why he sucks". Everyone knows that if you're selective enough, you can find "proof" that anything sucks. Simply put, saying "if you don't like tiesto, don't listen to him" isn't going to work, because the anti-Tijs crowd feel ENCOURAGED to listen to his mixes, because they can deeply scrutinize his performance and drag out an argument with some of kind of foundation. Music is so unbelievably subjective that if Tiesto plays one track out of place, or makes one dubious transition, it can be used by some people as justification for him being a shit DJ.
So is it about being jealous? Is it about wanting to be a cool veteran of EDM? Nah, I think it's just become a boring routine for some people. They see Tiesto's name in the thread list, it excites them. They hear a bad transition in his mixing, it excites them. It's all about providing a purpose for existence: "Tiesto has done something wrong, so I can now legally (sic) say he's crap, and I will knowingly have the support of other users as well." It's just something to do. Everyone likes to be argumentative now and then, it's a way of venting frustration - and over a topic like Tiesto, it's become so banal, samey and uncontroversial that you can safely do so without significant backlash.
It won't cease until someone takes his place as #1. To all the fanboys though, just don't let it get to you. It's nothing new and biting, it's just a host of recycled, worn-out comments that we've all read before and carry no enlightenment.
