Eugene with all due respect, check your facts on Canada not being a country full of hi-tech companies... seriously. So you never heard of ATI tech, Nortel, CAE, CGI, Softimage, Discreet Logic, ...

I am pretty sure that Montreal or Toronto could easily rival the Bostonian area on a per capita basis for hi-tech jobs.

The only problem is that Canadians don't boast about their accomplishments. We are very poor with marketing our stuff to the rest of the world, same applies as to why you never heard of McGill uni. of Toronto, Waterloo uni. or Universite de Montreal...

or maybe you don't know of any other university outside the US... that could be an explanation

P.S. My father who lived in a 3rd world country (syria) knew about McGill and that was in the 60s.

These are very small and obviously cannot be compared in scale to the US hi-tech market and influence.

And on another note...the fact that you've never heard of McGill and Concordia goes to show how wrapped up you are in your own surroundings. Those two schools are amongst the top in North America. Get a clue.

no you get your facts straight, mexico just moved from windows to linux to save money (something the US should do, but we are owned by coporations so it wont happen). My cousin visiting from mexico said theres alot of computer jobs , and that her brother is studying computer science at a local university. I might go next summer when school finishes just to help out and visit. would of been nice if I went this summer, could of gone to Nu-Nrg playing at Mexico City

Whats wrong with retiring at 25? heck some people around here who retired earlier thanks to the dot com era. After you retire maybe you can pick up some hobbies or go to school and go into another field that intrested you. Theres lots to do when you retire, but not when youre too old and cant get up, or have shit health problems. As for money, you get a government check and full medical servies like here in the states, sure its not much and im not saying everyone does retire at 25 but its there as an option.

excuse me. ATI is the number one video distributer in the world, and has a greater share than Santa Clara based Nvidia (and 3Dfx combined, if it wasnt bought out by Nvidia)
