Regardless of what he's doing currently, the guy still deserves respect for all he's done during his career.

Well the fact that he finally got popular via Trance was a bit of a suprise to me, but hey, everyone has to break out somehow eh? I really enjoyed him back in his straight production days, his work with Massive Attack was top notch. Although he's trying to return to his roots (more production than spinning), he definitely stumbled a bit on Bunka. A few of the tracks were superb, but a few were awful...and with his popularity being through the roof, people focused on what they prefer to focus on, the bad.

I hope Great Wall is good personally, because I love Oakey, he's the reason I listen to trance now. But I certainly won't Love it/Hate it just because he's Paul Oakenfold. He may be a legend, but the music must move me.

As far as cocaine goes....imagine if you had the money and the selection of women he does....you'd do plenty of Coke too...deal with it.

I must say, he has made a few good productions in the last years, but his sets have turned me off. Oakie is what got me into trance, I think he went through some experimental stage, and now he is getting back into mainstream trance.

Yeah I think Oakie is coming back from the experimental stage too

Good luck Oakie

Well I think Oakey just maybe going through a down phase in life.. I mean who doesnt go.. lot of us are also bored and sick of our usual routine.. but the point is Oakey is still good.. and definitely not the time to retire... he should just keep playin... and in any case his state side sets are good..
Give him time... he'll be back rocking!!!!

IMO there aint as much quality trance being produced, or the style of trance that oaky plays.

In 98/99 there were so many quality trance tunes around and now there isnt.

Oaky is a legend, not as good as hes used to be but still always worth going to see. Im just gutted i never got to see one of his legendary cream sets

I would much rather see someone like Eddie Halliwell play - young and full of enthusiasm, than see Oakenfold turn up to collect his money and not give a f**k about his performance.

go lick on eddie's nutts then

I think its about time that he retired - if you don't have a passion for it, you shouldn't be doing it.

Oakenfold - your time is up!

Anyone else agree/disagree?

totally agree, he is horrible now. (pop star).
