Also, the number of women I have personally spoken to who go to the elections with little to no knowledge of who they're voting for (just the ads they saw on TV) absolutely sickens me. [...] such law was probably unfair. However, it was redemied decades ago, so what exactly is your point? |
Foolishness is genderless, so they vote uninformed as most people do.
The point is that as historical background, supports lots of discrimination.
Examples?
Man with 5 chicks: hero
Woman with 5 guys: slut
Same job:
Man: $1500
Woman: $1000
Marriage:
Man: should have experience
Woman: should be virgin
Making a move:
Man: should approach a girl. That's his role.
Woman: shouldn't approach a guy. Looks like a bitch or whatever. Should wait patiently.
(BTW, OT: I LOVE when a girl hints on me )
etc, etc, etc.
Male predominance is still floating around. Hasn't finished. Why they're "freeing" themselves as we speak IMO? Because most of women actually think, that reaching marriage virgins is "the right way", even if they don't do it. They think a girl with 5 guys is a slut, etc, etc.
At the core of the occidental morality, women don't have the same freedom as man. And that plays a psychological role. I mean... dear god, take a look at the toys, girls get lil kitchen sets...
| quote: | | The only problem is, just as in the case of Affirmative Action, certain women with a personal agenda (i.e. not your average lady) continue to cry bondage and discrimination and essentially trivialize men and make us the objects. |
Yeah, already told so. is crap, it's just natural that after thousands of year of oppresion (not able to make personal improvement, study, work, to decide, to even talk... argghh), some turned out to be a pain in the ass.
On the other hand... imagine a post from some guy saying something like "women are all sluts, we should tie them and dispose of them at our will", most guys would at least smile while reading that.
That kind of s**t shocks me.
This world is like that, i don't like it. Respect is a must for me.
| quote: | | I would seriously like to know what you're basing this statement of "slowly freeing themselves" on - it has no factual basis, it's just programmed societal dogma. If you can give one clear and objective example of how women are still not "free", I'd like to hear it. |
kinda answered above, tell me if not clear enough.
| quote: | | And I'd still like to know what "half the world" is to "claim." You're spouting bland platitudes that have no real-life meaning, can you not be any more specific than this? |
Well, i don't see a 50/50 percentage in any senate, i'm pretty sure more than 80% of astronauts are male, all important positions on anything are usually taken by men. And I strongly doubt that men are more suited for that positions. I don't think women are more suited either. I just think that logic says that if a country has 100 million ppl, with 50 mil. woman, and 50 mil. man. And there are 500 -dunno the amount of senators @ USA- senators. There should be rougly 50/50 men/women. Just as a state that rougly has 15% of a country population, holds rougly 15% of the senate.
| quote: | | Men and women got along just fine before feminism came about. That is the very thing which has destroyed so many relationships between the two. |
No, men subjugated women, and when all started being questioned some social aspects were changed radically, that's called a crisis. A point of inflection. That's the usual: things go one way, something happens, a messy stage, then stabilizes, then it goes steady again.
I take you don't like changes (ie you're conservative. prove me wrong)
| quote: | | Psychological violence? What kind of talk is that? |
Yes, grab a book about psychology or two. They don't bite. Violence starts in your head.
To make you punch me, I can either punch you, or just start talking s**t about you for hours and wait for you to blow up. Of course, there are more subtle ways, and some are even socially accepted. The result is the same: violence. Women were taught for centuries to bear with it, making them submisive.
| quote: | | No, they're not. Once again, prove it. |
Men have more cans that cants.
Women have more cants that cans.
hmm maybe should/shouldnt instead of can/cants. but you get the idea.
| quote: | | PEOPLE ARE NOT EQUAL. Inequality between two things does NOT imply the "betterness" of one, it simply implies difference. |
I never talked about betterness.
I think diversity is the way to go, so totally agree here. Don't see how's related to what either me or you have said before.
| quote: | | How can people be so unwilling to question their beliefs, so fixed in what they've been taught by such dubious authorities? Doesn't it ever occur to people that they might have overlooked something? |
That's exactly how I feel about you.
PS: about the communism references... don't see the relation with this, i'm talking about morals, not slicing a bread for 2 ppl.
PS2: i got kinda lost on the quotes, double quotes, etc. might not make sense lol
