whoever said it was the guy's fault if a parties is a sausagefest was correct. I'm not a stud or anything but I always have my party ratios 50/50 male/female or better. I had a little get together last weekend that was 2 guys and 6 girls, and when I go out to clubs there's always as many or more girls with me than guys... I just like it that way.

so take some initiative. ask girls to parties or give them cds or whatever.

I'd still rather have quality over quantity, and for the most part (of course there are exceptions) I think raver chicks are some of the hottest on the planet

it's life.... the world has always been different for women than men... not because women can't do something, because they were assigned (or deprived of) certain roles. dance music has really still not surfaced to a mass scale GLOBAL level that it effects virtually everyone. it is something that is there on the side. until it gets to that point, its really not going to equalize this gap between men and women, just like in everything else. slowly but surely, women are catching up in the timeline of things. that point just hasn't come in dance music world.

Oh and another one that gets me: "how do you dance to that beat? (trance 4/4 straight) I can't dance to that straight beat." How the hell can you NOT dance to a straight beat? IT'S LIKE A CLEAN SLATE = TOTAL FREEDOM. its harder to dance to booty/ hip hop cause its break beat. Anyways ive been trying to convert my friends for years now. I prefer to give out Tiesto Sunrise 3 cd, or maybe PvD Global as a easy beginner's cd. please list other suggestions here. It's really sad that people can not hear the music the same way I can. I guess its all that classical music background and 7 years of piano lessons that has brought me to love trance as it uses classical instruments/samples/sounds. Thing is, your right, i never invite girls to go clubbing because most of the time they say no. I dont have 1 single girl friend (aside from all the female TAs ive met) who likes Trance or EDM in general.

I used to invite girls to go clubbing with me, but they've always said no, so i dont try anymore. Its weird how they say they cant dance to techno when, like you said, its easier than breakbeat or hip-hop. Of course "dancing" to most girls means grinding and just staying in one place shifting around a lot. Dancing to us TA means raving, or jumping around going crazy or feeling the beat and the music and just moving our arms and legs to it.

OK, here I go. The one who's never been to a party, I will warn you now.
For one thing, a lot of girls I know are totally into dancing, but slow, grinding crap. They're scared to dance to anything faster than the newest "let's have sex" song. The guys don't help either really, they don't want to look stupid. Notice I live in a bubble again, I don't know anyone else off the Internet besides me that likes electronic/trance music.
Another thing is probably that girls feel kind of weird jumping around and going crazy because then maybe a guy won't dance with them. It's a really strange dancing culture we've developed.
BTW, I am a girl, I love trance, and I am addicted to the net. And I program. lol So yeah, I don't exactly fit in either. But that's just my thoughts.

alright here's my 2 cents:
being a girl i should know this. most girls in atlanta (i'm not saying all but most of them) are into breaks, house, and dnb. i have tried to bring my friends that are girls to trance events but they would much rather go sit at the globe and hear the locals that spin the other genre's above or if they are over the age of 21+ they go to the swanky midtown clubs that have a tendency of playing from top 40 crap to hip hop. this is something i cannot stand. it's hard to find for me to have a girls night out if i want one because none of them listen to trance. trance parties in atlanta are a sasage fest (not wrong with that) i love a man that listens to trance = ) we need more girls damnit =(

Have you SEEN some of the idiot retard guys that are at parties tweaked out of their heads nowadays??? They scare girls away and ruin it for the rest of you...As for fem. I'd definitely agree that at parties there are more guys than girls, but that goes for clubs in general these days. And it's not like it's some UNGODLY ratio, probably 60/40...And if you are talking about online trance listening girls, the ratio of men to women is probably 90/10, but thats probably due to the fact that most girls are dumb when it comes to computers (i said most not all )...Shit, I'm not all that computer savvy myself (yes, i'm female), but I know how to ask for help...Thanks EVANGELIST!!

My advice, if you want to hang out with a chick at a party, bring one with you.

I'm willing to start inviting more girls to events that play trance. Here are the reasons I've been slacking in this in the past. The few girls I have taken didn't really like it cuz "it was too repetative"... so the girls that are willing to give it a shot I'm afraid will ruin my night cuz they will be complaining the whole time. Some girls you have to pay for them to convince them to go cuz they are worried about how they will dance to the music, that money could go towards precious vinyl. But despite these reasons I am willing to take one for the team and invite more girls.
