BTW, the build quality of most of Sony's newest headphones is REALLY crappy! (As in flimsy, ringing/echoing-prone, breakable, very-thin plastic!)

There *ARE* some people who agree that they are OKAY for specialists... hell, even I did, for a little while. Then I realized "what was I thinking?", as did all of the people I was talking about... the boomy bass on the 700's makes beat matching harder, because the actual bass you hear ends soooooo much time after the signal for the bass thump actually stops, you know?

What caused me to realize this? Well, to find out, read what Mike Walker says...heheheh....

Ok i won't get the 700's anymore, as there are too many people against them, i will probably have a look at the Sony MDR-V6's as you recommend, but that is when i get the money....the v6's are those browny type of ones aren't they??? but yea thanks gluegun...and everyone else

Well, yea, A lot of Sony's old stuff looks a little more rugged than it's new stuff too, you know?

Plus, in addition to SOUNDING better, the V6's are *WAY F*CKING* more durable than the V700's, which are prone to breaking.

Anyways, get the pads for em too (read the 3rd link)...

about beatmaching is harder... why does so many HUGE dj's use them then?
i dont think its because they get sponsored or something
they actually like the headset
ok, if ur really picky there probably are better headsets for listening to all kind of genres and equipments

like, i got the v700dj headset myself, and im very pleased

i only listen to techno\house and trance and do some dj'ing (will start for full when i get the money i miss for tt's) and the sound is excellent

and i will mention the bass to, cause it rox
now,im not a specialist in sound and etc (seems like you are), but can you write down some facts (which are proved,not what you read in a magazine which just writes their rewiev of the headset)where you describe whats bad with the headset for listening to music and dj'ing

cause i cant really believe that they are so bad as ppl who have posted in this thread wants them to bea

the only thing i feel is bad so far is the price ;(

casue they were expensive

Heheheh... Though the MDR-V700DJ's only sound decent on those types of music -- but play jazz or classical on them and you'll find that their bass is sloppy and uncontrolled! And the midrange is recessed and uneven, to boot. I listened briefly to them when the store was playing Mozart through them! An accurate pair of headphones should sound good with most types of music, including classical and jazz!
