i dislike the fact that most of australia (well mainly people with no clue) use the word 'techno' to cover all genres of electronica... so when i say i like trance most people are like huh whats that.. i pretty much have to say its techno for them to understand what im talking about... and people that say wild FM Cd's are techno is kinda stupid as they are a crappy happy hardcore housey sorta genre.

When most people around here think of trance they think of Alice Deejay, Darude, and DJ Sammy. I usually don't bother replying when people start in w/ that shit. When I do, the only thing I ever say is, "There's sooo much more to trance than that."

what i always find funny is when hiphoppers or RnB club-hoppers start talking shiet about techno in general... then they get pissed when i point out that so much of todays so-called hiphop and RnB are actually forms of techno...

My coworker use to call trance "Euro-Tech rave crap". Also, some people are convinced that "Rave" is a genre and others argue endlessly that DnB and Jungle are two different things.
