Pio, I really don't see why you made that original comment. It was very harsh and extremely uncalled for. I think Mike's mixing sucks too, but ffs, he is spending tons of time producing great tracks, while going to highschool, and he is only 17 and hasn't been spinning very long!

Whatever, let's get back on topic, shall we?

i know, i already apologized...i said that after 48 hrs. of no sleep because i'd been traveling all day to see a certain dj in another continent. still no excuse, but i said i was sorry.

and choobak for the 1000000th time i'm not gonna discuss with you the relativity of something you can't understand.

you can pretty much break down and generalise any genre the same way.

trance sounds all the same. your tech-hard-trance sounds all the same. pretty much every genre follows the same formula, and prog isn't the worst of them. your point?

hmm lets see.

azior - deep and inside

and

holden - a break in the clouds (main mix)

holy shit batman, this tunes dont sound the same at all.... - and both of them have 'depth', holden's track is quite danceable as well

one thing that i don't understand: why with so many threads talking about prog everyday in this board, a certain bunch of people suddenly come with the 'prog is so boring i sleep' argument when it's about markus schulz?

btw, this is getting too much a lame 'prog vs trance' thing, i like both, they're both great in their own way. the only reason i started this was cause you people started jumping onto bashing prog.

not taking offence to this particular post - (because hes obviously my webmaster and good friend)
if anyone wanted to know....
<

my mixing isnt what it used to be a few years ago when noone knew who i was...oh well, i suppose i should give up my 2 hour time slot to Tyler M ...??

btw..my most recent set was the Trancesphere birthday bash......was it really that bad?????

o well, also relating to mixing.....people shouldnt expect a pro tools quality mix/ set from a DJ every time he/she spins...its something we all posess called "human flaw" ..keep that in mind next time you are listening to someone mix ...

I used to not think much of Markus....until I saw him at Space. My view on him was forever changed. He is really good and I totally underestimated him...that's a weakness of mine sometimes, but anyway. He was the opening dj for Paul van Dyk on 11/22/03, but he had the place going INSANE, and I don't see that often with opening DJs. When he was finishing his set, people were going even crazier, yours truly included. The guy HAS to be good if Paul van Dyk ASKED for him to precede him, not to mention, Markus going on tour with Armin, and to GODSKITCHEN, of all places. OWNAGE.

I imagine it was pretty shallow three years ago, but I'd hardly say that now. Considering how far every other genre has come in the last three years, it's unfair to say that prog hasn't evolved in much the same way. I have started listening to prog only recently, but I'm perfectly capable of seeing a genre of music for what it is after a short while, so I dont think I'll be "growing out" of it any time soon.

I think it makes perfect sense. I personally would find prog fairly hard to dance to in a club because it's slow, but I find it relaxing to listen to while at home working (or whatever).
