what do you mean ? That I basically need to do something so our LDR doesn't go to crap so we might actually have some hope in getting married one day ?

I don't take hints very well; You must spell out your needs and I'll do my best to accomodate your needs babe

i am in a LDR (he lives in NY, i study abroad in germany for the year) now and they are alont of hard work. this situation has been going on since end of august and we have seen each other on average about every 2 months.

it works better if you know there is an end to the distance. like my situation is we are only apart for 1 year.

dont get me wrong it hasnt been a piece of cake, but if the person is worth it then one will make it work.

I think i drop into the long distance and oversease relationship. My g/f lives in New York and I live in Uk. Been going out now for over a year. Communication is vital, along with trust and honesty. Temptation is quite difficult some times, but ur also tempted when ur going out with ppl in ur own country lol.

Going to see her next wednesday, fly from Heathrow at 8:20am lol. Can't wait

Age is also a pain in the arse, it would be so much easier if i was like 25 and she was in her 20's, then university would be over with

It can work, and it can;t...depends on the individual and what u want from the relationship.

She is moving not me i think, but i dont mind either way

long distance can work depending on the strength of the people involved.

my boyfriend and i have ONLY been long distance, and we will be together for a year in april. so it does work if you want it to.

however, i know a lot of people who aren't as strong willed and aren't willing to sacrifice a little for the long run.

my bf is in the army so he moves around a lot (including when he will go to iraq this year for 6 months ), but he is the only person i want to be with. to me, he's definitely worth the fight.

I was in a long distance relationship last year between Ithaca, New York (her) and Vancouver, BC (me). It was horrible!

When we saw each other the next summer the relationship dissolved pretty quickly, when we broke up it really wasn't that painful. My stance on long distance relationships is NEVER AGAIN

just got the short end of the stick in a 2 yr LD...me in NYC, girl in London...altho things seem to still be sorting itself out, somedays i wake up and still have no clue why we broke up.

it does come down to dedication and trust, what both sides want in the relationship, and if there is an end in sight. however, for me and my ex, the big problem was learning to have our own lives outside of each other as we were so infatuated with each other. it depends a lot on where the two people are in their lives (in uni, working, etc) and how the two people work things out. takes a lot of time i tell you, but if the girl is worth it, distance should not be a factor. to me, holding out for something makes it all that much more special. and if u meet someone special, hold the fuck on cuz u might never find it again.

sux cuz i was supposed to move to london for masters after this summer...would've been a great future but hey, that's life.

interesting part is in a LD relationship, u learn to appreciate the smaller aspects of life cuz each moment shared is that much more cherished.

Plain and simple.

true love will survive anything

question: but does true love really exist?

reality: most often than not, long distance relations do not work.

so...to put it plain and simple....I DONT KNOW

i think it can work but like someone said it depends on what u want from the the relationship and what the two of u are like.

I was in one for 3 years and the reason from the split wasnt due to long distance factor ... she just fell for another person simple as that i enjoyed it a lot and learned a ton from it. If it was the right person i would do it again definetly. When it is long distance you tend to concentrate more on the person emotionally rather than let your hormones take over and i found that ver rewarding but i did miss the sex sometimes of course

Edit : I am seeing someone long distance so...um....yea!

you can have an internet girlfriend if its an open-relationship, meaning you are both available to other people (who are not long-distance), otherwise its just not healthy at all.
