Way Out West was spectacular. Omi has a wonderfully angelic voice behind those breakbeats and airy-sounding synths. Way Out West really has a unique sound and their own genre of music. My first time seeing them in Chicago.
Some memorable tunes of the evening that I can remember (I could have some of these wrong) were: Chab - My Memory (Romania Edit Mix), Way Out West - Apollo, Steve Porter - Definite Form, and I think I heard a Sasha tune in there somewhere, towards the beginning. Vision wasn't that crowded either which is a bonus sometimes when you're trying to enjoy one of your favorite Djs.
Although, I didn't recognize any TAs and your faces. I was hoping to finally meet a few of you, but I don't know what you guys look like. Maybe next time. I'll be @ SoundBar Friday night for Lawler and Fortier if all goes well with my work. Nonetheless, Way Out West kicks ass! I even got Nick Warren's autograph

Mmhmm I would wager it was Omi on the vocals, not Jody Wisternoff.

Hey, you're going out to NYC for PvD @ Summerstage? We might have to party out there and then back in Chitown for Tiesto

highlight of the night for me was hearing Luke Chable presents Quest - The Shepherd
other than hitting some insanely scary thunderstorm on my way down from Milwaukee, i had an awesome time. the music was great, the crowd was good, and Omi sounded really great live.
edit // oh yea, Synergy - Hello Strings made my night too. i was so off in my own little world.

That must have been the Sasha tune. Now that I listen to Luke Chable's tune I can see the similarities compared to Sasha's newest work.
And, by the way...I think I have meet one of you actually...
Tymeblind, send me a personal message or IM me, please.

So there wasn't much of a turnout? That may have been good for those in the club who enjoyed the breathing room but it's worrisome in regards to WOW's commercial viability. They need to sell some CD's so they can keep serving us up with new music and future gigs! I guess you have to be a DJ demi-'god' (Tiesto ) to catch most ppl's attention.

WoW isn't really known here at all... I finally picked up there last cd when I was in england over new years. Wasn't much of a turnout? I'd rather say it was an intimate evening. I actually liked it a lot...
everything has it's place, and quite frankly a Way out West PA was better this way.

Well, glad you had a good time...the case of not being known seems not to be endemic to any specific area. I guess they're not seen as being credible on a large-scale like the Sashas, PVDs and Tiestos of this world. I'll just pin that on my pessimism and perhaps the label's/management's poor marketing efforts (and maybe corporate radio in America and abroad). "Mindcircus" from a few years ago should've easily hit most dance radio stations across the country, thus increasing notoriety and demand outside the few and the proud, but that didn't seem to be the case.
I've also been hearing a recurring complaint that their current show is too "chill" and laidback, so maybe they're performing in the wrong type of venue? (I honestly can't think of a better venue for their specific setup right now...they may need to add a few more pieces to their show to beef up the excitement, though). On the other hand, these people complaining could just be impatient and are missing the nuances of their music.
I'll see them in Houston this coming Friday to judge for myself, but being such a hardcore fan, I'm sure I'll find a way to enjoy it.
I'll quit rambling now with my pondering disillusionment. Thanks for reading.
VH.
PS. Where are the pix from the night?
