well sign me up scotty

but viva forever without an acapella is pretty much worthless and you won't get the acapella so let's just forget that one and take sosei instead

i wouldn't choose viva forever to remix it, otherwise, it's impossible to get the acapella of it,

once more, i would rather suggest for the remix comp:

kai tracid - liquid skies (i have the acapella if you need it)

or

chicane - love on the run

Since I'm a judge I'll make a poll in a few days to decide the composition to be remixed...or butchered, whichever may happen to be the case.

No offense to other judges...I'm not saying I'm better than you, it's just that this isn't going to go anywhere if someone doesn't do something about it.

It'l run for a week and then close (the poll, not the competition). I liked Luke Terry's suggestion of using the real classics like Heaven Scent or Flaming June. My suggestion is that you name a few other tracks that are just as massive as those. To keep it simple, to keep the poll relatively small, and to spare me having to read through hundreds of suggestions, I'm going to have to ask you guys to limit it to 1 suggestion per person. Any more and I won't consider it...unless it's really really good and nobody else said it before.

If any of the judges disagree with anything for whatever reason, PM me and we'll work it out. However, like I said, in the interest of getting this started, I feel some action needs to be taken.

Like I said before, I can provide the upload space...providing someone scripts me an upload form It's probably best to have one of the judges hold onto the mixes in the interest of fairness.

Whatever track gets remixed needs to be vocal based, and we need to be able to get the accapella for it. Last time I checked, and the last time I listened to it, there was an accapella for Viva Forever I think the reason en2t wanted to remix that track is because it would really REALLY go with his style.

Aside from that, a vocal track is better to remix then a non-vocal track, otherwise the winner is pretty much decided on who can make the phatest, nastiest, mindblowing synths

And finally, I would rather not remix a trance track. Why doesn't everyone just step outside of their comfort zone, and make nice trance from something that wasn't trance to begin with?

that's such a cliche, just because you have phat synths in a track it doesn't mean that the track rocks

but anyway, back to the subject...I just came up with a little different idea...

everyone's suggesting to use an acapella and base the remix on that...how bout this instead...

what if someone with good knowledge recorded for example a guitarriff from a known song and we use that for remix...something like a guitarapella (is that really a word? )

well it doesn't have to be a guitar-riff but something else than a regular remix with covals and shit...coz vocals are getting a bit overdone as it is right now
