you dont hear about a lot of things from a lot of sources. Im one to believe that if these gambling addicts didnt get their fix at the casino, theyd be the first one in the back room at "vinnies pub" gambling with the don.
We can learn from places like Holland that stopped pretending that social ills existed and dealt with them in the open. I think this sort of harm reduction is mutually beneficial. Prohibition (of anything) clearly has never worked.

getting access to Vinies may be easy for those in the know, but when you open a casino 24/7, its easier for joe shmoe to get addicted.
I am not against casinos, I am against them being implanted near metropolitan areas. So going to the casino doesn't become a daily routine.
