Well I'm a Yankees fan, but we need at least one team here in Canada so I'd like to see the Jays at least survive. But this is an atrocious name. I can't stand how new buildings are named after sponsors. The Montreal Canadiens' new arena should have been called Forum II. Rogers Centre? That's not even a baseball park name! That Rogers is a pompous idiot. Under his ownership, the Blue Jays will continue to be a joke. They increased their payroll for the next three years, but couldn't keep their ONLY franchise player (Delgado)??

stop comparing a sports venue with landmarks like the CN Tower and the Eiffel Tower, let alone the Louvre or the Empire State Building....
the SkyDome is a sporting venue, will be razed within 50 years, and is hardly recognizeable outside North America....I'm not a fan of the new name (I would have preferred the "Rogers Field" name that was making the rounds earlier today), but the earth isn't about stop spinning because of this....
renaming a sporting venue doesnt pave the way for hsitorical sites to be renamed, so stop acting like thats the case.....

I agree that it was badly managed.I hope the new owners can improve it..
and 35 million sounds quite cheap, it must be the high running cost
