Although I grew up in NYC, I love being exposed to the Canadian influence here in Canada Jr, known as Buffalo. I love having that different perspective that the Canadian media provides, such as the CBC. As soon as something big happens (usually involving the US, since they seem to be in the middle of most global news stories), I turn to the CBC, CFTO, and any other Canadian station to see how they're reporting the news.
I guess as an American, then, I can bash my fellow countrymen. Every time I see a bumper sticker or one of those stupid ribbon magnets which say something to the like of "Proud to be an American", I become so infuriated. There are some ideas associated with being "American" which can be positive, but the most visible representation of our country are a group of gluttonous, war-mongering slack-jawed yee haw sheep who push forward into things impulsively.
But, just my observation. Oh, yes. And this.
OK. That Bill Cosby thing is becoming quite annoying, so I'll end this here.
