I didn't even get searched at all... they just took my ticket and let me in. So I got to bring in my camera and take a few pictures/videos (not many at all).
Here's a short quicktime video during PvD's set that I took
http://www.digitalcosmography.com/p...Ultra7_PvD1.MOV
This was my first WMC/Ultra experience and I must say it was a total blast... It made me really want to move the hell out of NC and back into Miami/a big city again (use to live there as a kid).
I got to Ultra in the afternoon, and I enjoyed pretty much all the sets I heard except Junkie XL's. I was also so damn tired by this point (had been in Space the night before) that I just chilled in that first row on the left for most of the event itself and enjoyed the loud music coming from the massive speakers set up.
In the end, the experience only further confirmed my belief/opinion that Ferry Corsten needs to be MUCH higher than #7. <3 Ferry.

I remember when you used to go to Ultra to hear some fresh new tunes. Not anymore I guess. What was up with all the top tunes of 2 years ago being played almost everywhere? I know good tunes are good tunes, but damn, for a festival like this, you gotta bring out your A game and bust of some sick ass new tunes.

yup, junkie's set was so similar to his from last year, though i loved hearing "fight for your right" again.
you know who did play sick new shit - Sander fuckin K!! i heard most of them on the terrace the night before but they were still fresh. here's a partial tracklist for his set (not gonna try on the space set, way too long):
Rachel Starr - Til There Was You (G&D mix)
The Killers - Mr Brightside (don't know the mix)
ID - absolutely sick breakbeat track that says "revolution 909" (must get!)
Sander K - The Fruit (what mix is he playing now?)
ID - sick track with the "domo origato mr roboto" vocal from that styx song (must get!)
Brainbug - Nightmare
Ace of Base - Cruel Summer (Mannel 4am remix)
Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up (don't know the mix)
aside from that, Ferry was the best trance set i heard, completely solid and owned the ampitheater
Infusion was the best live performance, good rockin tunes
Tiesto was so dull and monotanous that i left, checked out Carl Cox for a few and it was pretty banging, then over to see Santana who was great for the short 30 mins they gave him.
Went back to the amp for a little PVD who was good but I had seen him at Space the night before and wanted to see some DJs I hadn't seen, so I went to check out BT. I like BT's old stuff a lot more, but some decent breaks nonetheless.
As we are going to leave I recognize the tune coming from the sound stage: its Crystal Method playing the remix of Smashing Pumpkins - 1979! awesome way to end the party.
