Yes, this guy is fairly skilled for an edm dj. Moreso than zabiela, but just for the record, he did not use 5 decks for that cd, he used 3 denon dns5000s which are cdjs, that have a second output, so it was actually mixed on 3 cdjs, which each have 2 outputs. IE the ability to play 2 tracks off of the same cd at once. Sending each track to a seperate channel. (Denon calls this Alpha Tracking) So technically he had 6 sources (decks, tables whatever you want to call them) but they always seem to refer to it as five, I guess he never used the 6th source.

I also give the guy credit for using unpopular cd decks (they are unpopular because they are too complicated for club use) As many djs are afraid not to use pioneer cdjs, as they are "the club standard" But obviously he saw that these denon cdjs were an untapped resource, and it worked out for him. Its about time a dj took the time to read a fucking product manual, and look beyond what is flogged in clubs.

Anyways, the most technically skilled djs are obviously turntablists. People like cox, digweed, sasha, dyk, tiesto, sasha, and zabiela shouldnt even be mentioned. Now as far as which turntablist is best, I wouldnt have enough knowledge on the subject to determine that. Its most likely some nutcase in his basement which the world has never heard of. A-trak and Dj Dopey, and Kid Koala get mention, because they are canadian and they rawk.

just because someone does something different does not make him the best or the worst.

while i support sasha and his ableton live mega-super-hyped controller thing, the fact that he started it has absolutely nothing what so ever to do with being more technically skilled

I never said he was the best. I dont even like the music he plays. I never said he was better than anyone either, besides zabiela, in which case, I say rightfully so because he has done a more complex type of mixing. And he is sort of in a butterfly position to him...ie he was flogged by digweed, as james was flogged by sasha.

Its not. 3 cdjs is easier than 4 decks, obviously. What the fuck kind of comparison is that? He was mixing with 3 cdjs that have a second source. IE 6 Sources (although apparantly he only used 5 of them) So comparing 5 cdjs to 5 turntables would be fair.

No he didnt. You were just to ignorant to realise it was in use by many people until a top 10 dj started using it.

out of most of the djs ive seen, zabiela, but thats ignoring a couple of hip hop djs i saw once, who were insane, in terms of skill they are probably better than zabiela but i didnt enjoy the music. no one i can think of is as inovative and forward thinking with their mixing as James Zabiela.

No he's not. Maybe by you and other trancecrackers, but your opinion doesn't matter.

'Cuz you're a trancecracker.
