No, we only expect him to do his job as a DJ. But he doesn't even bother to do that properly anymore.

please people. start knocking Tiesto when you have your own record label and have years of production under your belt. Your vain critisms may mean more to me then, but until then.. go back to jerking off in your apartment night after night.

I care nada for anything Tiesto related nowadays. I just love to argue, especially when I can show the world how utterly clueless and shit arguements like yours are. And, since you mentioned it, I can guarantee you that there are enough established DJs with record labels and several albums under their belts who think Tiesto is just as much of a joke as people on TA do.

Go ask any established techno artist what they think of Tiesto and you'll see. I'm sure they have some "interesting" views.

Dave Clarke
Richie Hawtin
Derrick May
Laurent Garnier

I wouldn't be looking for that in tabloids like Mixmag. Most DJs are too smart to start criticizing people in interviews for mags like that, as they always get their words twisted so that it means something completely different when the interview gets published.

That is true it would be stupid of them to do that, but how can you back up your previous statement? Not having a dig at you man but thats a statement you need a bit of solid copy behind.

there may be a few, but I think your in the minority here bud.

+ the ones u listed are TECHNO. What do they really have to offer as an opinion on Tiesto?

Techno is very differen't from Trance. I actually like Dave Clarke a lot as a producer, but he is too differen't from Tiesto to even mention in this debate, as well as the others u listed.

How does the music they are associated with make any difference? You said it was the people who have:

your own record label and have years of production under your belt.

The people I mentioned qualify for that. Also, several of the techno DJs nowadays used to be trance producers/DJs in the past.

What does that have to do with anything? I know for a fact that people have gotten their words twisted and bent to insane proportions by tabloids like Mixmag. Danny Tenaglia had to write to the reader column himself to make clear that there were lots of things he never said or that were just plain wrong. That was my point.

I could dig up some, but I really don't see the need when they've stated stuff like "trance is for plebs and nonces" (Dave Clarke) and "Thanks to anti-trance.com for fighting against trance's continuing foothold in the US clubscene" (Richie Hawtin). You do the math.

There is a need when you dont say where your getting this stuff from! Hawtin's post came from anti-trance.com if you say it does but what about Clarke's?
To be honest, no-one in the trance camp is gonna give 2 sh*ts about what someone else thinks of the music so their statements are kinda disposable. If some guy says my music is crap, I laugh at him!

My point is, when they think trance is as pathetic and laughable as they do, what do you think their view is on the biggest and most commercially succesful DJ to be associated with the genre? Especially when that DJ has willingly and actively pursued popstardom?

Again, you aint said what your sources are so your arguement is kinda floored.

The fact is Tiesto has done a lot for the scene and he was one of the guys who got me into it back in the day so I for one am always gonna have a lotta respect for him.

Now yeah I acept he is a manufactured product, but at the same time the techno gods can slag him off coz the closest thing they got to a superstar in a pop sense is Mauro Picotto!!!

FLAME ON!!!!
