My recommendation is that we make it FREE for TA's who participate in making this night go off. That can be either in local promotions support, assisting with coordinating efforts & things like that. We can make it 10$ for everyone else.

I would certainly love to help with promotion or grunt work whichever would be needed

I think a night with TA's on the decks would be the most fun and would truly capture the spirit of the event itself.

Sounds good to me. So TA's it is. What does everyone else think?

One thing we should start thinking about is a good name, brand, and logo that will represent the concepts and the events. Here was my take on the mission statement as a refresher:

a. To promote local talent in the South Eastern United States though hosting events showcasing local talent.
b. To advance the exposure of Electronic Dance music as a positive influence in our community
c. Aid charities that are in synch with our mission statement
i. i.e. teaching Kids to DJ/Produce
ii. Save the Music

Any and all ideas welcome.

First off, let me start off by saying, I think the event needs to cater too all styles of EDM. Not to start shit, cuz I know this is TRANCE Addict and not Progressive House Addict, but I think all styles of EDM fall in the mission statement!

I think Jonathan needs to get with Eleven50 and see what they require to put on an event there. (That is the major cost here)

Once that is figured out, we can start planning on when Eleven50 (if that is where we go with) will let us put it on. How we will promote it! What the name of it will be! And most important, how we will pay for it!

I am so stoked about this if we can pull it off!

I guess I had not made it clear enough so I’ll do that now. This includes all Electronic Dance Music (EDM). No one is excluding any genre at this point. The scope could ultimately be much larger than just this board. It all depends on where everyone wants to take it. But until we can at least get a clear and organized consensus, there’s no point in seriously approaching anyone else right now.

I would suggest if anybody is serious about putting something on, we get on it. It seems like we pass around an idea, everybody gets excited and is ready to run and it fizzs out. Then we get a few more posts and a "thank god this has been picked back up again" and then it dies for two weeks.... That is all I was saying!

Ok as far as throwing this in the ATL.......

what is needed?

we have the Venue, the mark (possibly)

we have some dj's (scott, jonathan allyn) and most likely a few more, this is something i am not worried about.

Do we have the means for advertising?
What will it take to market this event, and how many TA's are needed?

as far as grunt work, Im down. As far as something with a little more substance goes, no idea what that would entail.

so- i guess the issue is.......

do we know the rules of the game we're playing in order to make this idea a reality?

Promotions - New Step (done)

The venue - we need a friday date, but I can secure The Mark if we can have a couple hundered people.

Talent - We can represent all genres. Give me some names.

Flyer design - Surface can do it (done)

Surface will front the promotion fees if we can just get people there.

Keep me updated,
